I couldn't decide on which torque wrench to get as first timer so I just went ahead and went to the nearest mainstream tire shop.

My wheels were seated through star pattern the other day at spec, then drove 60 miles total within 24 hours.
The tech did circle pattern and wondering if i should be concerned, I'm pretty new about this so any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.

If the lug nuts weren't loosened and only checked for torque (and tightened a small amount where necessary) then it's totally fine.

Jack90210 is correct.

When seating a wheel, it must always be star pattern to make sure the wheel centers properly and the other lugs don't get a false torque reading. If they are just retorquing, then any pattern is fine.

hard to understand what you mean, you just had em check torque or torque to spec?

But yeah as mentioned you want to do it in a star pattern so you should be good!

so he's talking about aluminum wheels, are supposed to the retorqued after driving 50ish mi. this "rule" applies each time a rim and tire are mounted again after being taken off the car.

basically is a safety check as aluminum wheels are a different metal than steel, and that rule of thumb is rarely properly followed and applied honestly imo...

may just be a gimmick to get people to come back into the shop for a quick retorque but I honestly don't know. more like a way to the shop to double check your wheel won't fall off after they serviced it for liability reasons...

either way it's never a bad idea to retorque anything so long as you don't over-torque it.
