I want sw388's but don't know if I can stomach the 5k for rims alone when the rota slipstream are a full set for the price of one sw388.

I know the basic difference in quality and forged vs cast so not trying to compare the rotas to the spoon or regamasters.

I wanted to get first hand feedback from those who have owned the rotas.

Not looking to track the vehicle with them either.

Also any issues with wheelbay as a seller on ebay?

I havent heard of Rotas since the honda-tech days. From what I remember the company was banned and they crushed all the rims in the Philippines. I wouldnt put those on a $45,000 car.

I was slowly buying rims from blackhawk japan and have one spoon wheel. too bad its 5 x 114, id sell it to you haha.

I had a shot at buying a set of sw388s with tires locally for 4500, but it slipped past me. Honestly I love my stock wheels with 20mm spacers. I will prob hold out until I can get the sw388s I really want. The 18x9.5 +40 is my dream wheel right now.

It's for sure the cleanest rim out there. How about the russian version? Regamasters from ICB? The website is 25 years old but I still think the shop is still in business haah.

For some reason the regamasters don't come in a 18x9.5+40. That is for sure the fitment I want. On a 275/35r18 tire.

pretty neat that they're hub centric

Rota's been in business for a long time - I don't think you have much to worry about for street rollers

I don't think you're gonna find many people raving about having Rota's on their FL5 either

Man I remember back in 2007 around that time they trash them becas couple of dudes went to a track hit a wall, kerb or something above 100 miles per hour and the wheels got destroyed, so everyone bashed them but I own a set of 4 spoke to use on my daily for 5 years and never have any issues with them. But the same kind of stuff was said about Konig and look now. Go for it man is you car at the end of the day if you like them go for it.

Rotas are inexpensive, cast wheels and usually copies of licensed designs. There is nothing wrong with them if you are just looking to buy wheels for a look and aren't concerned whether they are the most durable or lightest. Also make for cheap snow wheels, track wheels, etc.

I like them for what they are, I've run many sets on my old NA Miata and tons of Miata folks run them. They are from the Philipines as mentioned, I had them do a special run of 13x8 +4 RBs (Panasport clone) for CSP class Miatas back around 2005 or so to run 235 width R compounds for autocross. Super cheap, like $100/wheel.
