With Honda claiming the 2023 CTR will be the highest HP Honda ever sold on US soil, how powerful do you expect it to be?

I am expecting a very minor bump, 307-310hp in true Honda fashion. Probably unlocked 1HP gain from a minor exhaust change.

This is a 1 day poll prior to the reveal on Wednesday!

Place your bets!

I think since the tires are 2 cm wider than the previous type r.
we get a significant upgrade in horsepower. remember that wider tires offer more resistance. 320pk plus to be sure

Nothing interesting right now
Put me down for 330

Fingers crossed for a highly customizable drive mode. From the leak, the carbon roof probably isn't happening.

Typical Honda. Not even telling us the horsepower on debut!

But I'm a fan. Looks awesome!

I guess we’re all assuming that it taking Suzuka is all just tire and suspension? Since a lot think it will be very minimal HP increase?

Just got a call from the dealer.

The release got pushed back to August 1st due to "limited supply of microchips"
Orders open tomorrow at 15:00 so I will be there an hour early in order to get the order ready to submit right as it opens and see how we go.

This dealer is putting some restrictions on orders. Have to comit to not reselling the car and have to buy their service plan. That is likely just the Honda Cars company rule in this prefecture.

Price is just shy of 5million JPY (google whatever that is in USD because the exchange rates are insane right now)

Power is 330ps
Torque is 42.8 kgf・m peak @2,400 RPM
Weight is 1,430kg

Rear track is 1,615mm

Thats about all the info I have today but I should be able to get a snapshot of the rest when I go there tomorrow.
Leak from Japan thanks to this user.

Converted its about 325hp 309tq assuming we dont get hit with emissions.

Perfect amount of power!

Do sneakers count if I put wheels on them?
Gotta take that down a bit though cus they tune for 91 octane here. But of course, it's easy to find 93/94 octane depending on where you live so that'll be nice.

I am going to say we are going to be around 320HP. They said they are only doing a re-tune of the engine, so it shouldn't be anything too crazy. They know we can tune the cars if we really need more speed.

307-310 just seems too lame, so 311-320 seems realistic. More than that would be fine but not likely.
If there was only going to be another five horsepower or so more- why make a thing about it? Just quietly release the
car and talk about the other changes.
The magic of this engine is its willingness to rev, with minimal power losses to the wheels compared to many other cars. . So the crank numbers don't do them justice.

Can't wait until we see our first road test.

Said it once will say if again peak HP means nothing. Repeat after me, area, under, the, curve. And torque band. How well it maintains peak, when it peaks and how torque builds is more meaningful than a single point in the RPM range.

2,000 rpm range @ 300HP > 100 rpm range @ 330HP
