Honda conducted a 2022 Civic Sedan online intro yesterday where they also talked about future Civic models and transmission.

Coming next (confirmed):

Honda Manager Carl Pulley confirms in video that the Si and Type R are will be manual only.

Summary:
1. Hatchback w/ manual option
2. Si w/manual only
3. Type R w/manual only

Trims shown in video:
- Platinum white in Sport trim (exterior only)
- Red touring trim (exterior & interior shown in great detail)

Here's a cut to the portion discussing the Si, Type R and manuals

Too bad. Guess I'll keep my 10th gen. The 11th gen literally offers nothing better than what I already have. This'll be the first generation I'll skip since the 8th gens came out. Maybe they'll actually offer something worth while come time for the mid cycle refresh.

Typical Honda bull headedness. Disappointed but not surprised in the least.

There you have it. Si... "manual only". Around the 9:30 mark of the video.
Were people saying that the Si would be cvt?

An Si/R DCT would be the final nail in the coffin of Acuras sedan lineup.

Well there it goes, out of the Honda game. No auto Si, oh well was fun while it lasted.

No doubt. Which is why I've been saying the Si would likely be manual only when folks suggested Honda might give the Si an automatic option.

An Si with manual only doesn’t preclude the fact that Honda can still offer a DCT in the Civic lineup, just a smaller chance.

An Si with a DCT or even 10 speed auto would be nice. Definitely would lead to a bit more sales IMO. If that was an option I would’ve gotten it. Living in the city leaves me w no patience of driving a manual.

You think the next Sport Touring hatch might appeal to you?? At this rate I'm doubtful the SI will even offer a hatchback either...but if there is a Sport Touring model it might work for me...especially if the Sport Touring still offers the manual transmission.
