What would you guys say would be the best wheel/ tire package for setting fast lap times?

Going down to 18s for weight, and going to 10" width and maybe 285s, 295s?

I'm going to be running a lot of track days on a relatively high speed track and looking for a set of dedicated track wheels

Thanks for any input.

18x9.5 +45 w/ a 275. It could fit a 285 but it's a bit bubble on a 9.5J wide rim. A 295 would require a 10.5 or 11 width at minimum, and there does not exist an offset that is optimized for both inner and outer rim clearance without requiring extensive fender and suspension modification.

We have a few customers on our blog running a TE37SL 18x9.5 +45 with a 285 tire without issue. Stock suspension as well as lowering springs.

I’m wondering how it would sit with spoon progressive springs… might have to try it out…

Would work well! The 45 offset plays nicely. Let us know!

These look very good. I am not a fan of the protruding wheel look that 45mm and less give. For me it's somewhere between 50 and 60mm offset. I wish the MF10 came with 50-52mm. MITA has a knockoff MF10 in that range, does anyone have experience with MITA wheels?

Not tested yet, but we are finding it may not be too easy to fit it like it was back on the FK8. Need more data.

Just wondering here, is there a chance the Stock 19 wheels could fit 275/35 R19 without any rubbing issue?

I am really concern with the ground clerance of these car due to speed bumps in my neighbourhood.

I'm wondering the same thing if I got a set of Spoon SW388 19″9.5J +45 would a 35 stretch? I'll be getting a set of Swift Springs too.

I have a shop near me that helped keep both of my 2003 CRVs going past 150k miles (one of them was around 190k). If we order tires through them (for just a bit more than the Tire Rack price), they will store the tires for free. I literally have no place to store any tires, so i was all-in!

Sadly, the manager who i had been dealing with there for years moved on, so i discussed tires and got a quote from the new mgr. He saw what the car and stock tires were (he personally looked at them), and once i had decided on tires (DWS 06), he ordered those for me. He had given me a quote of $200 for unmounting the PS 4S and mounting the DWS onto the rims and balancing/aligning -- explaining that took into account low-profile tires like mine (i had seen the reverse-mounting and wheel damage info on here, so yah, i knew there were special issues).

When the tires came in, I dropped the car off for the work. A couple of hours later, i get a call from him saying that he wanted to warn me before starting... it could be a complex job and that he couldn't guarantee no damage to the rims or tires! :banghead:

I told him No...stop. At that point, i just decided to get it done at my dealership. My Honda dealer is part of a complex of higher-end performance cars (BMW, Porche, Mercedes, etc.) all within the same building. I figured my chances of getting it done right was much better there. It worked out (they did it for the same price), but i warn y'all that if you aren't doing the work yourself, just like others have said here... you might want to just bring the car to a place that normally does performance tires/cars. The time and grief of dealing with shops that aren't experienced isn't worth it.

This setup moves wheel 22mm out. There seems to be at least 1" extra clearance on the fender side.

How much can the wheel be moved inward?
Also interested in this question. Love to throw 20x11 wheels on and run 285/30/20 tires.. +55 Offset.. wonder if it fits

Inner clearance will be limited to around 9.5 ~50-55, before it is far too close to the inside. 11" likely would not work.
