Congratulations. Location and further details to help people out?
Thank you! And wish I could help more but for what it's worth I was most definitely not the friendliest to dealerships with high mark ups so maybe I made ones day worse enough to lower it closer to msrp hahaha.

Got it down in Florida, was their 2nd and last 2024 allocation for the year. I didn't question why it was msrp because I didn't want too many questions going around before I signed for it and someone realized haha. But I was told that Florida can't be beat price wise for cars so decided to look and be damned it was the first dealership I called down there and we agreed on everything and car was signed for before it hit the lot.

Sweet. Wish I were tough as nails as you were on negotiating. I always tend to leave money on the table. Hope you enjoy in good health.

What dealer? I'm in southeast FL and the dealership network around here is nothing but a cesspool.

Picked up a Sonic Gray Pearl at Safford Brown in Glen Burnie MD on Friday for MSRP. Only add ones were all weather mats and wheel locks.

So Cal $5,000 over for a 2025 CTR which was manufactured after August 2024 (was not subject to the recall)

I still love love my 07 FA5 but it has nearly 200K miles and it needs new tires, for whatever reason my tires never seem to last more than 15K miles :)

so I have a choice to make: either buy new tires or buy a new car.

I have not test driven the CTR, yet I am sure going to miss shifting at 8,000+ RPM

any reason not to buy a CTR at 5 over?

based on previous model years, will prices come down closer to MY 2026?

At 5 over on a new model year you’re doing pretty good. Average ADM i expect to be 10K. They 100% wont touch going to 2-3k. Simply doesn’t make sense for them to lose their dealers showpiece that early. They need it to sell the other models for people who cannot afford the type r but aspire to own it one day. I doubt any smart dealers in any area that is popular, budge for anything less than 5k. Try and nudge a little more on your trade and make them close to break even on that side.

the reason for "only" $5K is because my daughter is buying a Civic Hybrid Hatch from the same dealer this weekend.

decision is then more difficult, get a new set of tires and wait about a year for prices to drop below 5K over, which it might not, or pull the trigger now.

patience is a virtue

but it ain't one of mine

I might just have to flip a coin as many times as necessary to reach the correct decision

I don't understand why you wouldn't just buy one from another state for MSRP, and pay $1000-1500 to have it shipped. I'd rather do that and put money into the hands of a shipping company than throw an extra $5000-10000 to a greedy dealer.

I never really considered it...

I guess that I assumed that I have to be at the dealership to sign papers?

I do not buy cars very often, about every 17-20 years

the CTR would be my third new car and probably the last, as I am 60 years old...

I'll research.

thanks!

How do I find inventory outside of So Cal?

the Honda inventory search wants me to enter a zip code first and then only show nearby dealers.

If it’s MSRP its gone in an instant with 10 deposits already probably at a dealership with a list of people in case the first person backs out. No need for them to deal with out of state hassle when someone up the road wants the 2025
