Hello everyone. New FL5 owner here, but not new to Honda. I love this website. Reminds me of Nsx prime! I have an Nsx in my garage, but my FL5 sits in the driveway, all naked and afraid. Very scary after how much these cost. I’ve seen lots of posts of people having their treasures stolen in here. Car thieves have a special place in hell. I have cameras but most thief’s are masked up etc.
That being said. I’m looking to add a kill switch. I’ve seen anti theft methods including relays, OB port protector's, and alarms (which I used to sell)
Yesterday I purchased an Ferriday box off Amazon, which came today. Seems to be the way everyone is stealing our cars now, the rf extenders and all. The box works great. Put the key in it, went to the door handle and nothing. Prefect, I thought.
That got me thinking. What else can I do? The club? Cut off with a portable saw. Wheel locks? Most I’ve seen don’t work.
And all other sorts of gimmicks. So it’s time for the old reliable kill switch. Something hidden. Something tapped into the harness, and wire loomed up as not to look too conspicuous at the connection point. Plus the obd port lock doesn’t see like a bad idea to slow them down. I’m definitely investing in that next. I seen one for $100. Not a bad investment to keep my investment safe.
My question to the community is. What wires have you guys tapped into? What works the best? Fuel pump? Another thing I haven’t thought of? I’m an old school man, and all the new fly by wire stuff is new to me.
All the input would be appreciated. Comments and questions all help with my decision. I’d like to not pull a diagram of wires with colors and location, but will. So let me know what works best for you.
Thanks guys! I try to park behind it whenever I can but it’s my daily now so, crap!! that’s annoying.

Nice try, thief! 🤣

Seriously though, I think you’re on the right track. Some unique and well hidden interruption to a critical component is my plan.

Put a huge obvious camera and motion light system in the rear window of the si.

You probably won't want to get wheels since it's the easiest thing to take. You can go wingless with a prl delete, though I'm not a fan of how it looks.

Most of all I'm glad you prize the NSX and keep that in the garage. That is a lot of cars though.

NSXprime is amazing because it's still so active/helpful decades after that car stopped being made. For sure the best community I've been a part of.

This site is also great but the car is still in production, we'll see how it looks in 10 years. :D

If the “Type R owner age” thread is any indication, we’ll all be on the stair lift forums in 10 years.

I use a pedal commander....and then for $10 a year, you can add the anti theft part. Disables the throttle! Not only a great mod, but a inexpensive theft deterrent! :)

One simple thing to consider...Disconnect the proximity sensor connection under the center console (white harness clip). Lack of the proximity sensor detecting the constant key fob RF signal when nearby or boosted prevents the auto lock and unlock from functioning so you'll have to press the physical buttons on the fob itself.
