You can get a FK8LE spare kit if you're willing to sacrifice some trunk space. Or if your insurance covers a tow, flat bed it home and put the spare on there until you get to a shop. Would not recommend the fix a flat kit that comes with the FL5.
Yep - unless you go on a long road trip or often drives where there are no cell services, a spare won't be a deal breaker. Most of the time, a flat would be caused by a nail. In that case, just carry an extra air compressor or use the one that comes with the car and air it back up to get to your destination. You don't even need to use the goop as the nail usually plugs up the hole fairly well. The only time that the air compressor won't help you is with a blowout or gash on the sidewall. Yes, it did take me a whole 14 years with my previous car to get comfortable without a spare! Though, I was very hesitant to take it on long road trips, but I eventually did still do over 25k+ miles worth of road trips in that car without carrying a spare! Will definitely consider the FK8 spare kit should I decide to do any road trips in this car.

But but but it's uber-rare and I don't want to diminish the resale value by putting miles on it or getting rock chips!

It's a tool y'all, use it.

Yes, my every day - stock power, stock suspension,

rear motor mount
forged OEM wheels (OEM wheels have pilot alpins on them)
carbon wing (OEM)
wunderladen dispstick, oil cap, coolant tank
coco mats
acuity shifter, stiffest springs, longer ss rod, Tokyo skateboard knob, custom shift cut out in Ti (JDC Customs, another thread here), acuity pedal gadget....
Auto-dimming homelink accord mirror.

Superb. No issues. Running cost compared to a GT3 (what if feels like) - wonderful.

I bought a spare off eBay, along with a Honda minivan jack/wrench set. Peace of mind in the desert southwest, where cell phone coverage can be nonexsistant.
I like the ITS damper module. It takes the edge off rough roads. ITS module Sport and +R modes are more than stiff enough on smooth roads.

I daily mine Spring, Summer, and Fall. I put it away for the winter because my doctor says that salt on the car is bad for my blood pressure. This car is the ultimate daily driver imo. With all its performance chops, it still offers plenty of comfort, it’s incredibly practical and reliable, and I can get 28-29 mpg with a tune! Oddly, I find my RDX winter beater more harsh on rough roads. The FL5 is the best all around car for my taste.

I daily mine in the PNW all year around. Only around 5k-6k miles a year as my commute isn’t that far and we drive my wife’s SUV on the weekends. PPF/ceramic coated and lowered on Eibach. I run 19” TE37 on OEM tires in the summer and the OEM forged on all seasons with spacers in the winter. I use to drive a Focus RS as a daily driver so the Type R ride is comfortable to me. I’ve been taking public transportation this week because they closed I-5 South in Portland and I already miss driving it, never get tired of the +R Mode gauge cluster.

Can someone tell me howaddding the integra type S module improves daily driving? I also daily around Philly. the roads suck..
I had both the DE5/ITS module for about a year (since the first weekend I owned my FL5) and now the DSC

The DE5/ITS is only a bit softer, essentially shifts each mode one half to one step down compared to the CTR module, comfort is still fairly firm and jittery/busy on freeway joints or broken pavement.

It does not use the entire range of the adjustable suspension, and a fairly narrow band for each mode, so you have to manually switch the modes.

The DSC is a night and day difference.

It takes full advantage of the entire range of the suspension.

It automagically adjusts from sensor inputs (speed, steering, g-load, ride height, and related signals), with predictive and reactive adjustments, from softest to firmest in comfort mode (medium soft to firmest in sport, and medium to firmest in +R).

There is no need to manually switch modes. I just leave it in comfort for daily driving and let it do its magic.

Body control stays tight. There is little wallow or sway, and the ride is compliant and even supple.

+R is usable on the street, but for daily driving, I see no need for the +R mode with the DSC.

Note that the DSC controller was designed for racing/track use. I never raced or tracked, yet I find it perfectly suitable and very comfortable for daily driving.

As far as daily driving. I drive it as much as I can. I work from home, but use any excuse to drive it...

I could care less about resale value. I tend to keep my cars to about 180K-250K miles (15-20 years). my previous was a 2007 FA5 with over 180K miles when I saw rumors that the 2025 might be the last year of the FL5 and decided to get it "NOW".

In less than two years and 10K miles I have several minor body dings/scratches/scuffs, and curb rashes on each wheel, I could care less about these. I believe I washed it only once so far, maybe twice...

But I do care very much about keeping the drive train lasting for a long time. I let it warm up thoroughly before WOT and shifting at the red line. I let it cool down as I drive home or in the garage. I added some mods to help with cooling

I change the oil/filter every 5,000 miles (first at 3,000) using good quality oil (PUP 0W-20 and Fram for the first change. M1 ESP 0W-30 and Purolator One for the upcoming oil change). I also replaced the the transmission fluid to get rid of any break-in metals.

I am not an expert driver, said multiple time that I drive like an ape... but I love driving it. Several times after I came home after a fun drive, for example after test driving the DSC module for the first time, and especially after the Cobb intake and custom tune, my wife asked: "what happened? why that silly grin on your face?". Tried to explain, she did not get it, and stopped asking...

It is also a very practical car, lots of stuff fits in the trunk esp with rear seats folded. For example, I recently had to deliver a twin mattress, it fit inside with the hatch fully closed.

Even with a lead foot I get 23-24mpg on a regular basis, though now I am aiming for less fun and more miles and was able to get 25mpg on the latest tank.

I did consider getting the FK8 spare and keeping it in my garage, and only putting it in the trunk for long multi-day trips. but I then recalled that only once in over 180K miles I had to use the spare on the FA5. I might still get it, but it is way down on my wish list.

I just posted my long list of "Quality of Life" mods here:

Very similar for me, yet I went a bit farther...

I learned about all these from fellow members here, so I am sharing my entire list:

ITS module on the first weekend, but then swapped it with the DSC active suspension control module, which is much better, even "supple" in comfort mode, yet firms up automagically

Acuity spacer, also in position C, no heel-toe for me without it

I opted for the Hybrid Racing short throw and bushings, Acuity shifter was not yet available at the time, and I had the Hybrid racing in my FA5 and loved it.

Adjusted clutch pedal for minimal free play, and recently removed clutch pedal spring

Mishimoto walnut shift knob with steel core (metal gets way too hot in SoCal)

PRL RMM

WOT cooling tray + Bad Ann LV front guard

Spacers between the hood and the drip tray to help drawing out hot air via the hood vent

PRL coolant expansion tank (just because it was sold by a forum member)

Removed the fake engine noise injector

Removed the spy module

Dual front/rear dash cams (saved me thousands with my previous car when the other driver attempted to lie)

TPMS with external sensors (it not easy for me to sense if one tire has a flat or leaking air, esp with such low profile tires.)

3D maxpider floor mats

Cheap black seat covers

Headrest/neck pad/pillow

Center console armrest pad

Inflatable lumbar support inserted from the back of the seat

Foam thingy between seat and center console, no more searching for dropped stuff

Trash bag mounted behind the center console, fairly easily reachable.

Phone mount by the center display

Suma side mirrors, the anti glare really helps at night

Blind spot mirror aimed at the rear wheel (in an attempt to avoid curb rush)

Door edge protection strip, sides and bottoms of doors

Mirror protector

Rokblokz rally mud flaps with fender vent mesh rock guard

Brake light flasher module

Ravelco ani-theft system

OBD port lock

Steering wheel to brake pedal lock

I still need to take off the front bumper and install the 27Won intake snorkel and the dual Hella horns

My only performance mods are Cobb intake and AccessPort with a custom tune by @JST Performance

I don't like auto dimming mirrors, and my gate and garage door open automagically as I approach via Tailwind (https://gotailwind.com)
