Well, after 3500 miles of fun ownership, someone ran a red today and hit me.

While not a loss in my eyes, I gotta wait for insurance to take a look at it and determine the details. Airbags did go off so I'm hoping it's a case of a sensor just getting clipped based on the fact that it looks mostly cosmetic.

Thankfully no one was hurt and the other driver admitted fault on the police report.

Oh no... seems like you're okay though. Did you wait a long time for your FL5?

I was first in line at my dealer when the unveiled the car back in July and got it about a week or so after they started shipping them out in late October early November.

I've talked to some guys at that dealership and they haven't gotten another one since. I just gotta wait and see what ends up happening re:repairing or losing the car cause airbags cause a whole mess. Also gotta cancel my track day for next month lmao

Could've been worse. If I was 1 foot further up the road, that impact would've been a real hit. Car runs and drives which gives me hope that they'll repair it.
Many years ago i had a hit very much like that from a red light run, and the body frame was clearly bent. that image is still in my head. your FL5 looks like it held tight... but make sure the frame is straight if they go to fix it. they have machines that straighten frames... altho i don't know if that's good enough for a high-performance car that needs to hold the road at high speeds and high-G corners.

If they can properly fix it, the real headache will probably be the wait time to get parts.😕 One step at a time. At least no one was hurt. That’s the main thing.
Yeah, I'm hoping it won't be too long of a wait for parts but who knows...just have to wait and see how it goes down.

Airbags are based of accelerometers and not a sensor being tripped in bodywork, If it went off, #1 think is to watch your health over the next few days. The car can be replaced - your health can't at the end of the day.

Make sure and get diminished value from the other drivers insurance.
Yes!

Good luck getting it also... I'm not sure how easy it is to pull off or if the state you were hit in impacts this.

I would love to know the rules.
