Tell the true , my friend have wrx with carb legal intake but cop pulled him over and doesn't care carb or not , cop said anything talk to judge then gave him state raffle . Lol...
If u decide to modify then keep stock parts at lease u can swap back ,right . And just pay little ticket $$...that's i thought !!

Then you go to the state ref and show him the carb EO number and it gets dismissed

This has been the case for years, Im not sure why this is coming as a shock. Mod your car, don't drive like a Mustang leaving Cars & Coffee and the cops wont bother you. Most of them mod cars also.

Yeah. You don't have to smog it until 6 years after it sells new. So you can definitely tune and do some mods. Then revert it all back and/or sell the car before the 6 year mark.

Its 8 years before a brand new car needs a smog in CA.

You guys have it good. It’s 2 years after, here in NY.

Back in 2003, I had a Celica GT-S and put on a TRD exhaust. I got a ticket for loud exhaust. Went to see the judge, with my Toyota CARB paper in hand. The judge said, it’s NY. We are not in CA. That was the end of the conversation. I realized it was just a money making machine for these kind of tickets. I was in a courtroom filled with people who needed a translator. Most in front of me was just told to pay whatever dollar amount and dismissed. It is very much bullshit.

It just means we were all using it for "off-road use" and now we don't have to "swap it out" when we go on-road.

Hope they can send an EO sticker so we don't have to carry around "papers".

I love that everyone talks shit on cali but it has some of the best car culture, has some amazing tracks, amazing weather so you can drive all year long.

No one is talking shit on the positive aspects CA provides. That’s why so many people live there! But damn, some of the bad aspects are doozies. People who don’t live in CA just smugly enjoy pointing them out when given the opportunity.

Thanks, I actually kept and used this same username for ages. Even back in the AOL AIM days, anybody remember that? Damn I'm getting old. I used to enjoy BBQing a lot with flavored wood and charcoal, and that's what some of my friends called me. . I didn't know there was an actual MrBBQ place to eat locally, I had to look it up haha. Now I just have to try it, thanks!

It's crazy it took this long. The FK8 HVI barely got approved also .
