What about the FL5 do you regret?

I get it when the weather is bad but in good weather it’s no contest. I had a weekend driving some epic roads with friends, one of whom had a GR Corolla. We both agreed the FL5 is the better car. Feels much more dialled in on a good road. When I was in his car I just wanted to get back in the FL5. I felt like I was sitting too high, the AWD just made it feel blunt in the corners and the steering isn’t great. Just my opinion though.

This is why I am also thinking about getting a GR Corolla. It would be my daily and the FL5 would be my nice weather only car.

I so wish the FL5 didn't have so much piano black trim. I've PPF'd most of it, but still.

The GRC would be a daily. I just want something more fun for my weekdays and crummy weather. I am not getting rid of the FL5. The FL5 would be the car I would use for cruises with friends and local events.

Allowing the dealership to put some sh** called First Place Finish on my car when I bought it. Not that they gave me a choice, but wrecked my paint. They’ve promised to fix it, but the weather has been crappy and I’ve not had a chance to get back to them,.

First Place Finish is just a dealership money grab. The product isn’t horrible, but it’s not worth anywhere near what they charge for it. They make like ~500% profit on it, which is why they push it onto people so hard.

I assumed as much, but as i was getting it for MSRP, they were maintaining this was their markup. I was willing to give them that, but I didn’t know this would happen!!

My dealership also “forced” me to get it as part of the deal. I wasn’t happy about it, but whatever. I may be mistaken, but I’m pretty sure they sell it as part of an interior/exterior warranty package, so it isn’t completely useless. I’m sure there are different sales strategies for it, so whatever package I have may not be the same as yours. Look into it, though.

Anyway. Regardless, they didn’t mess up my car’s paint with it. What happened to your car, I’m sure it was an accident (they probably had some young shop monkey detailing your car). The dealership should absolutely make it 100% right for you. They have insurance to handle matters like this.

Cool...I'm considering trading in my white for a red or black one. Leaning more towards black.

I have a Boost Blue. My initial reason for a change of pace with the Boost Blue is that my previous MCoupe was Imola Red, which I adore. I have quite a few black cars in the past (still has one) and don't think I will get another one in black - looks killer for about 5 minutes after a wash. I like some colors in my cars. If they offered yellow or green or any of the skittle colors, I would jump at those!

I sort of regret buying the FL5 - I mean I love looking at it, love what it is, but it just doesn't fit what we need, and especially doesn't fit the shitty roads where we live. But I don't think I could have understood that without owning it.

My wife had so many restrictions on what we buy that it seemed like the only car that fit (no German, $40k max, though i broke that rule, has to fit 4 people - she said she wanted a manual but now complains about driving a manual).

Without her input I'd have likely bought something like an M340i, something more luxurious with a better sounding engine, suitable for family trips.
