Thanks for the feedback. Yes this track is a clockwise configuration and they never run the other direction.

I’ve never had this issue with any other cars, but this is my first FWD track car so I think that is contributing. I can definitely focus on relying more on corner speed and less on power.

I had considered the HRC (Cusco) LSD so maybe I’ll go that route. That’s one more maintenance item but I expect it would be much more effective. Thanks for the tip.
The Cusco Type RS is an awesome LSD. They can be noisy/chatter when the transmission is cold, but once warmed up and with the correct fluid they are silent and work fantastic 👍

09/19/26 Update:

Installed this week:

HRC TCR wing from JAS

The HRC TCR wing from JAS has been sitting in my garage for over a month. I wanted to wait to install until I had the Racebred front splitter. It was expected to arrive this week so I went ahead and installed the HRC wing last weekend.

Removing the factor wing is straightforward. The only potential issue is losing a bolt or washer inside the rear hatch trim. I knew this going in from a few YouTube videos so used a magnet and avoided the issue.

The HRC wing doesn’t come with any instructions but installation is simple. Where the OEM risers mount OVER the top of the painted hatch surface, the HRC risers mount IN the hole in the hatch. The HRC wing does not include any weather seal and the OEM Honda seal wouldn’t be helpful because of the difference in mount.

To ensure the mount would be weather sealed I purchased some 1.5” wide, 5/8” thick foam strips with 3M tape on one side. I then cut them to the correct shape and melted them down to match the mating surface between the HRC wing and the hatch.

After mounting I then added a thin layer of silicon to ensure there would be no chance of any water intrusion.

EVS rear tow hook

The OEM rear tow hook is disappointing and inexcusable (as is the lack of front tow hook) for this type of car.

The OEM hook is short enough that you have to remove the cover completely to mount it. The cover is much larger than the tow hook shaft so you‘re left with an unsightly opening in the bumper when the hook is mounted.

I purchased the EVS rear tow hook with the intent to cut a hole through the cover to allow the tow hook to stay mounted with the cover in place.

The EVS hook is just slightly too short to make this simple. Because it’s slightly too short, the hole in the cover has to be larger than it would be if the tow hook shaft was about 0.5-1” longer. Either way, once installed it looks pretty good.

Racebred front splitter

I purchased a 5 inch Racebred front splitter kit, with diffuser tunnels and the new CFRP end plates.

I do not have any front lip so the Racebred kit is mounted to the OEM bumper.

I chose to have my local shop do this install because of the amount of work required.

Js Racing Valve Cover

While the car was in the shop I had them install the Js Racing valve cover. It looks great.

PWR WOT radiator and transmission cooler

My original PWR WOT radiator system failed, with a cracked core. PWR replaced system for me and I’ve had it sitting waiting to install until the Racebred system arrived. This avoided tearing apart the front end twice.

Driving Impressions:

When I installed the HRC rear wing, I drove about 30 miles between city and highway. At speeds above around 60 MPH, the car felt a bit unstable compared to the OEM setup.

It wasn’t anything drastic, but was noticeable. The balance was upset by having only the rear wing and its additional downforce.

Since installing the Racebred system, I’ve driven about 50 miles of mixed city and highway. The car feels PLANTED. It feels like it should have come this way from the factory.

My first track day with the new setup is tomorrow 09/20 so I’ll report back with a more detailed assessment of the impact of proper front and rear aero. Rain is forecast so it will be interesting.

09/20/26 Track Day Update:

I29 Speedway
35 laps completed on the full course with 6 additional cool down laps not logged.

The day started at 63 degrees F and 94% humidity. End of day it was up to 66 degrees F and 83% humidity. Throughout the day there was intermittent VERY light rain, but not enough to cause any issues on track.

The track was fast with the low temperatures and there were not a lot of drivers in the advanced group so I had no issues with traffic today.

I started each session with two slow laps to get the tires warmed up with the hope I could avoid the rapid passenger front overheat issues I’ve seen in the past.

The HRC rear wing and Racebred splitter really changed the feeling of the car. I was able to enter corners with more speed and was able to take turn four flat-out in 4th gear, allowing me to pickup 5-6 mph on the second straight. At the same time I was down about 5 MPH on the main straight, despite having better entry speed and lower temps reducing power loss.

I set a new personal best multiple times throughout the day. My new PB was down about 0.9 seconds lower than before but the bigger result was that my average hot laps were down 1.5-2 seconds from my previous track days on the Nankang CR-S tires.

Tire wear was well managed with rotation mid-day and the additional warm-up laps. I think coil-overs are in my future to give me more camber adjustability to mitigate the temperatures I’m seeing on the inside edge of the passenger front.

I installed the replacement PWR WOT radiator and transmission cooler this week. With the low ambient temps and this setup I never had to consider water or oil temperatures today.
