Brake squeaking at low speed

Does anyone have this issue with a cyclic squeaking noise from the brake at low speed - approx. 5mph to 10mph? The noise is periodic with the wheels turning and goes away if I apply the brake. Any clue as what this may be? Thanks.

Hmmm...I just noticed it earlier this week at ~5k miles Thanks for confirming that it isn't a "real" problem so I won't have to go crazy chasing it down. I supposed this would be a tough problem to diagnose even for a tech because it only happens after the brakes has a chance to heat up. It's perfectly quiet for the first 20 to 30 minutes or so of driving. I only start hearing it driving through my neighborhood as I approach home, but is dead silent when the car is cool. It's not even consistently doing it. Some days I hear it, Some days I don't

Had the exact same issue, but on a different car (Toyota). I left it as it hasn't impacted operational performance. Annoying for sure.

I have never had the squeek..but I did have my brake pads checked when I had my FL5 in for the steering recall work done last Monday..I have 20015 miles on my CWC and the report was 8 mm on front pads, 7mm on rear..I do not run the traction control unless it is raining cats and dogs..BUT...My DSW 06 Conti tires only have 1/32 inch before the wear bar contacts the road..My SP4 lasted 5000 miles..My Conti have been on 15000..My dealer service writer said, after I commented on the low mileage on tires..."When ya play, ya pay"...true enough..after all It is an FL5 and I do live in a world of WV paved goatpaths<VBG>.

Lol pretty much exactly when I hear it. I was annoyed at first but it doesn’t happen that often and my kids don’t let me put windows down…so yeah. Also, I have paragon pads and those squeak like crazy!

Funny you post this... I've seen these posts and I've been telling everybody it's probably a rock in the dust shield, as I had it once every couple months, but lately it's every day.. last oil change I still had a lot of pad life left but it sounds like a scraping sound only 1-35~mph, not on brakes.

I don't have a squeak, but it's it's like a grating sound, like rotor on the brake pad. Had it since day one, guess it's normal.

Funny you post this... I've seen these posts and I've been telling everybody it's probably a rock in the dust shield, as I had it once every couple months, but lately it's every day.. last oil change I still had a lot of pad life left but it sounds like a scraping sound only 1-35~mph, not on brakes.

If it's a rock in the dust shield, why would the noise go away when the brakes are applied? Wouldn't the sound always be present regardless if the brakes are applied or not? If the rock is wedged in there, it should be constantly making noises, wouldn't it?

I imagine the logic is that the forces in motion can potentially dislodge it. Usually just turning does it when I get a rock stuck
