Ah. Additional grounding removes tension from the shift cables and allows for smoother shifts.
So you're saying by changing out the grounding wires in the car would make my MECHANICAL transmission shift smoother?

i've seen this done on other cars with positive results. not sure why OEM wouldn't just make a thicker ground.

Yeah the electrical engineers probably sized it based maximum current draw and not performance.

Thicker wires cost more. You only need a certain gauge of wire that is safe/effective for the given job. Anything beyond that is extra and unnecessary (from the factory). Aftermarket stuff can benefit from thicker/better wires as @pigfacedalarm pointed out.

For those FL owners who thinks this is a bullshit claim, I dare you swap out the OEM ground wire and get thick cable wire (anywhere!) and go for a test drive. Report your experience here.

better engine response and gear box feels lighter and shifting is smoother
