I want to preface this by saying I will be able to post the lap times next week however I can give you a brief run down and answer any questions after driving both cars back to back, street and track.

The video released today focusing on the ITS but many comparisons were made with CTR.

Lap Video (Different Days, 82F vs 76F)
Autobahn South
FL5 CTR Stock +R VSA Off(Bridgestone Potenza Sport OEM Pressures)
DE5 ITS Stock Sport+ Pedal Dance VSA Off (OEM Tires and Pressures)
CTR Driver - Britt Casey Jr. IMSA TCR National Champion (FWD Class)
ITS Driver - Mark SavageGeese (Drove a HotDog Cart into a Wall)

Type S Pros
  1. Interior 5db less noise in front cabin
  2. Slightly Better Audio System at higher frequencies
  3. Better Suspension Calibration for 95% if surfaces
  4. More features
  5. Better Paint Options
  6. Made in Ye Olde USA
  7. May fool people into thinking you have more money because Acura badge
  8. More TQ = Less effort in higher gears at low RPM
  9. More HP = Pulls on CTR in all straight lines until about 95MPH
  10. Exhaust Tuning is fuller
Type S Cons
  1. More Expensive
  2. Some Piano Black
  3. Seats are far worse than CTR
  4. Gauge Cluster software is worse, and no LOG-R
  5. Front Suspension tuning feels softer at the limit with more understeer, less rotation than CTR.
  6. Cant turn off VSA (Unless Pedal Dance)
  7. Not Made in Japan
  8. More TQ means more understeer under throttle at low RPM, far easier to run the front tires off
  9. Less open area on front bumper for cooling
  10. Aero Balance?
  11. Dimmer Switch Not Physical

I watched the video today, thank you very much! Most things as we expected.

One thing I did not expect was for the torque difference to be as pronounced as it is!

A couple of questions:

1) Why does the ITS no longer pull on the CTR above 95 mph? Torque advantage taken away because where the RPM lands in higher gears post upshift?

2) In parts of the production, I hear that the ITS suspension is much more compliant. In other parts, it sounds you guys feel that stiffness is just reduced around 20%. My FL5 will bounce in high steering input high speed corners if suspension is +R, sport, and sometimes even comfort if the road condition isn’t perfection. Does the ITS not bounce at all in any suspension setting? Because I think an ITS suspension module would be a lot cheaper than Ohlins and cancellers for my car. :)

Thanks again!

1. It could be timing being pulled at higher end where HP/TQ advantages are less noticable, and potentially some aero difference. If you pull out of a corner same speed, Integra will pull on the CTR slightly up until 95 or 100. Its basically like a half car length.

2. The only bounce you can feel in ITS is in sport+ in corners where car is bucking to get traction. If you watch the track drive you see no bouncing from either of us. Its far smoother.

Thank you for the great ITS video. I'm a strong supporter of your work and watch nearly every video you guys produce.

Did you ask the engineers if the ADS module will be a direct swap to the CTR? I think many of us are hoping this is the case with Sport+ mode essentially being +R mode. Comfort being slightly softer would be great on occasion.

I personally prefer the exterior and interior in the Type R and the suspension tuning is probably the only thing I would like to change. Possibly the shift knob as well!

Well, @savagegeese, you will now need to lower the asking price of $127,999 on your FL5 by about $127,998, because that's how much our FL5s are worth now that this masterpiece is out. The Bauhaus design of the FL5 (especially the interior) is now the Outhouse design when compared to the delightful mix of perforated leather, synthetic suede, pleather, leather, two-tone color, and Steinway & Sons piano black that is the DE5. I can go on about the symphonic exhaust that rivals the Berlin Philharmonic's finest performance, or the sculpted body that Michelangelo himself would be jealous of, but on this Black Monday, it hurts too much to go on.

Your response was reminiscent of Hemingway himself.

Correct me if im wrong but I believe in the type R video you mentioned the R was fantastic at its msrp but any additional markups made things complicated and that the R wasn't a great 50k+ car. Would you mirror that sentiment on the valuation of the integra at 53-55k? Have your thoughts on valuation evolved since?

Secondly, we need someone to explore hardware swaps between the two models for us common geesefolk. Exhaust, damper controller, accessory spoiler, wheels, steering wheel, etc

Appreciate the content, sir.

Another slam dunk video, thanks again.

Watched your Livestream, super bittersweet to hear the end is approaching, but awesome to see what you've been able to accomplish and most importantly the timeless videos and stories you've been able to tell.
