Any ADM that has been paid for the FL5 is now justified. Dealers aren’t budging from $15k on top of the $52k smh….

@savagegeese I know value is subjective but do you believe the ITS justifies its $7k-$8k premium over its cousin? I feel like it should’ve had a few more luxury features like rear AC vents, rear USB ports, panoramic moonroof, power folding mirrors and built in navigation. Those features make the price premium more digestible.

Honestly no. Id still take CTR. However I am different, CTR is not my only car, if it was Id take the ITS. It is overpriced, but the counter point is unless you put insane miles on it they will hold value unlike many cars.

Great vid. Did you beat them up about why the car doesn't get a better seat at least as an option? Comp seat like the C8 for example? Little birdie told me they didn't want to spend the money on a component at the factory to be able to install such a seat.
It was hard for acura to get Japan on board to green light this car. So budget was a big factor. It was also for only NA which was a similar story of IS500 where Toyota had to beg Japan for a V8 version of IS. In Acuras case they luckily got a lot more done here. But yes, my guess is people will be swapping seat etc on ITS.

Hell the Golf R has all of those features and MSRP is cheaper

@savagegeese I know the DE5 seats don't hold a candle to the FL5 seats on track, but how do they compare on track to seats like the Elantra N or GR Corolla seats? Do you slide around a lot?

How impressive / not impressive was the Marysville assembly plant for the ITS? Did you get a sense that they treat the assembly of the Type S differently or more bespoke vs the other cars made there?
No they treat it like the regular integra or TLX. They all go down same line. Difference is they are done in color batches so you may see 50 ITS then 50 A spec. Many of the workers near end of line are very excited for ITS and were proud. But other places of factory let me honest

Id say they are similar to the Elantra N in terms of grip. I didnt have issues with sliding or movement.

@savagegeese -- I find it interesting that the ITS makes more power/torque than the CTR with about 4lbs less boost. Must be a different timing map.

Also, curious if you felt the aero difference at high speeds. The CTR makes substantial rear downforce at 200kph.

I largely agree. I'm not a big fan of the exhaust sound artifacts on many of these late model cars, especially those in lower price points. The throttle overrun sequence feels contrived and inorganic. I know a lot of folks live for the snaps, crackles, and pops but in most cases, it just doesn't sound good - to me.

Yeah but it has two big strikes against it as a former Golf R owner. The leather scratches if you look at it wrong and, more importantly, it is the most boring "performance" car I have ever owned. The Acura at least looks to be fun to drive given that it has similar characteristics to the FL5.

I mean if I’m paying a $52k premium for the ITS. I would like for it to have most of those features. If it did I’d trade my FL5 in for it in a heartbeat lol

No disagreement from me there. Personally I don't care about a sunroof/moonroof or built-in nav (most overrated car feature imo, phone apps are always better), but definitely should have the other things listed.
