they are big sewing machine enginesI thought you were referring to sewing machines for a hot second.
I do rage-post occasionally, and satire and tongue-in-cheek all fit within those boundaries.
That said, this wasn't even a rage-post, at least not at first. I'm still convinced you guys are dumb for thinking Hondata "sold out", and even dumber for being sad about it. It just doesn't reflect reality.
What I do REFUSE to do is engage in any political discourse on this forum. We are tracking hard in that direction though, whether you realize it or not. There's a reason small businesses feel pressure to get what they can right now. Actually several reasons.
And this is why I was so against supporting COBB on this platform from the get go. They have a history of this and private equity is never good for consumers. COBB came in and sent all their main tuners on the forums to court everyone and now your APs are going to be useless. The COBB tuners told us all the things COBB doesn't do that Hondata does are on the way. They promised flex fuel. And their crappy intake requires a tune.Wait: you are saying that Cobb -- who announced support for this platform less than 2 years ago (Aug '24) and brought their first hardware to market (Intake / Intercooler) only 9 months ago -- is no longer developing for this platform?
I was a little on the fence re: Hondata / Cobb (leaning Hondata anyways), but this would be a big factor in my decision.
The sale of Hondata probably explains why they no longer give a discount at unlock events. The fact that PRL came back to Wake the Dragon this year gives me hope that the parent company won't kill the golden goose just yet
Actually that predates the sale by quite a bit. The change was because the discount violated their own pricing policy. The sale of Hondata probably explains why they no longer give a discount at unlock events.
Oh, so it was the resellers that screwed us out of the discount. When I went a couple months ago there were a lot of cars there. I thought I was early and there were 30 people ahead of me. I would have went the year before, but they don't communicate them very well and I found out too late. Missed my discount.Actually that predates the sale by quite a bit. I do know that they intend to continue the Jailbreak Tour - many have asked about that.
Preach! I was super suspicious of cobb too. I don't think there was some master plan, but man did they make a massive Honeypot for us. If they were gonna do this acquisition anyways they should've just led with the purchase tho. Bad business move. And this is why I was so against supporting COBB on this platform from the get go. That's because they found out we were coming and couldn't be left out (I'm just kidding, don't quote me on that...)The fact that PRL came back to Wake the Dragon this year gives me hope that the parent company won't kill the golden goose just yet
