You can pull the trunk liner out. You can opt for plexiglass for the hardtop. Not sure what else you can pull. Maybe the door cards.
Don’t want to go too extreme since I do drive the car every once in a while around town. Trying to remove weight while not going ham. And its already obnoxiously loud with the straight pipe exhaust lol. I will see how much I can keep removing without gutting the car. As long as I can get to 2600lbs or close I will be happy. Then its time to build the engine to have fun high revving car since its a AP2. I’m already at 8500rpms but if I go higher the liners will be eaten up and the pistons will crap out. Already got it to 236whp N/A so its peppy. Would even go as far to say that it would probably give the Type R a good scare with it being stock.

Get it tuned. I had mine done. No more VTEC spike. I’m getting old, put a new catalytic converter, instead of HFC and went with Mugen exhaust instead of Toda 70mm because it was too loud. I think it’s just slightly quieter.

Already got it tuned, took me a while to design the map that I wanted but its perfect now. Even took the time to wire in the wideband into the ECU to be able to log afr through Hondata. On how loud the exhaust is I’m still working on it. I wanted to lose as much weight as possible so went with the Tomei titanium catback and front pipe cat delete. Might have to add a muffler eventually lol.

Its Florida apparently nobody cares lol. The only reason I went with that one its that the car is not my daily. Otherwise it would be unbearable. 😂

Well went to an Auto X yesterday in Daytona. Went into B street class and to my surprise the car was extremely competitive in the class. Managed to take second place in the B street class with 1st place going to another FL5 owner which was a super nice guy. The first place FL5 did have 18” Apex wheels legal for the class and 275” sticky track tires with a rv6 rear sway bar. I was on Oem wheels and tires but still managed to stay in podium against some stiff competition from a Supra with track tires and wheels and a M2 competition. Which are way more expensive cars with great handling and more power. The tight technical track really helps the civic in that department.

Hopefully the videos come out good to see if I can post them up here but for now some photos.

How did you like the behavior of the car versus OEM springs?

Feels very close to stock, but it looks way better the drop is very minor. Though these are the FK8 version and not the FL5 version.

They do have a bit of a stiffer rate but nothing crazy since they are the pro and not the sportline. Feels sharper but really good street manners.

That's a fair call out. You admit they're a little absurd and that's what draws you to them. I'm on the other end of the spectrum on them. I think they look awful. And I'm not anti-wing riser either. I have them on the GT4 and I think they look fantastic. It doesn't help that I'm also not a PRL fan, at all. I know that's sacrilege around these parts.
Your comments about PRL are not unwarranted. Receiving parts from them is incredibly hit and miss. I think their intercoolers are fantastic though!

When I bought my FK8 the previous owner had already installed a PRL intake, and titanium intake tube, which I didn't mind, but I think Eventuri's offer is superior.

I used a PRL front pipe with my exhaust setup and upon inspection after a few track days I noticed that the metal rod that goes through the rubber exhaust hanger had just completely sheared off.

Right now I'm waiting on a downpipe gasket...it's been weeks, and I haven't heard a peep.

Good that you guys are sharing! I have no experience with PRL yet personally. I did get their intercooler but I bought it off a friend that sold his FL5 and never installed it. And it was a nice piece probably the nicest intercooler I have seen in a long time. But that is as far as my experience goes.

Here is the video that I was able to get of the auto X on the gopro. It was hard to mount so had to ask the gf to actually record the whole lap. This was the first lap so I got quicker as the day went by but at least its some footage.

Went to the Hondata Jailbreak event in Orlando. Lots of cars and cool people it was nice to meet some of you here on the forum.

Car left the event with the basic 93 tune from Hondata and the difference is very noticeable. Will take a crack at the software in the coming weeks.

Ok so as promised a little info on tuning just for comparison’s sake.
Stock timing vs Hondata 93 map.

As you can see the Hondata map is a bit smoother and has increased timing all around the map nothing crazy just a small bump.

And here is Fuel command stock vs Hondata

It is also quite a bit leaner on the Hondata map. The reason for this is since the map asks for more boost it will tax the HPFP more and it being a mechanical pump there is only so much the cam can move the fuel pump at a given RPM. On boost spike they managed to give it a bit more fuel but up top they took out enough to make the car run cleaner.
