I'm in Love with how this build was documented. Everything looks executed with clarity and purpose. Well done and thank you so much for sharing the details and not gatekeeping information.

I do appreciate the kind words and I'm all for sharing what I've learned over the decades of being involved with cars. It helps to keep the drive of finding new things with each platform I own and explore different setups and methods.

Went up to ACH with a friend to take some photos near/at sunset yesterday. I got some crispy edits lined up to share of the next week. Enjoy the clean vibes. PS still need to install the front Cusco brace under the Mugen damper. I promise I'll get to it this week haha. I held off because of this drive on ACH as I did some spirited driving testing out the refreshed driving modes with the SDI module.

I'm still collecting my thoughts on how it felt as I've never driven on an active dampening system before. I really want to take this thing out to Streets of Willow or Chuckwalla now. 6 months of ownership and I'm folding like a shitty canard blowing in the wind.

Oh I'm going to update the first post with a link to the current mod list. It'll include stuff that's just in the garage waiting for install as well.

I'm REALLY seeing the photog skills now, and I agree with others' sentiment that this is the best build thread I've come across. I don't usually vibe with build threads unless there's something tactical that I'm considering doing as well- just too much subjectivity to keep me fully engaged usually- but this one has just been a fun follow. And it's just fun to see you extract images that are pleasing to the eye.

Good stuff.

Nice build! Does the CLEiB lip use factory push clips/mount locations or do you have to drill into the bottom of the bumper cover? Any install info/pictures would be awesome.

Thank you so much! After taking an almost 3 year break from anything social media related I feel refreshed and excited to share my personal work again. Reading this really is great to hear and I appreciate you and everyone that's taken an interest in seeing this build unfold.

It has you drill and install rivnuts into the bumper. Terrible idea since the bumper is pliable and squeezing a rivnut just causes the material to squish and possibly making the rivnut just fall out haha.

I can see why they opted to do it this way since you don't have to remove the bumper but if I had to do it all over again I'd rivnut the lip instead.... what's stupid of me is that I did that before on my m3 and was so proud of myself for thinking to use rivnuts instead of the self tapping screws it came with. 😂😅

Sorry small rant there. But yeah quality of the actual lip is great. Fitment is pretty much perfect. They make a track version that goes further under the bumper for better aero but at that point for cost I'd rather do a Spoon bumper.

If I scrape the lip it's always at the ends since they hang so low. But I just love how aggressive it is for a daily haha.

Yeah, I am looking at the "track version" and from the photos it looked like all the holes lined up with the push pins and the undertray looked like it lined up with other fasteners underneath, but I guess I'm wrong. I bet the track version is why they have you put the rivnuts into the bumper cover. Once the undertray is on, it would be tough/impossible to get to the topside to put in the bolts.

Still waiting on the Spoon Zero Bump steer kit so I can get the Powerflex bushings and anti lift kit put in at the same time. I'm not messing with bushings. I learned my lesson on the e46 and using a pickle fork my wife had to purchase from autozone since I couldn't drive the car hahaha. Man, the drive up and down ACH really getting me to inception myself into tracking it....but freaking summer is nearing and hell no to going fast in 100+ road temps. It'll just make me want to do cooling mods again.

Still messing with the SDi e-Clik system. I realized it still adjusts within a range from whatever you have it set at physically on the dampeners. Treat the main adjustment from there as the base and the e-Clik will fine tune the suspension in real-time based on how much you desire per setting (brakes, steering, throttle, pitch/roll) Sorry if I mentioned all this before but every morning on my drive to work I'm just trying out different ranges on how it adjusts.

Man,
This looks like an official Honda Product Brochure photo.

BTW... What's the ACH?
"Anaheim Coastal Highway"?

Uncultured Low Brow Texan here, so I'm not familiar with the acronyms over yonder California way.

No no it's just a good photo but thank you! Haha best way to start the morning reading something like that.

Honestly I should have just remembered not everyone would know this road if you don't live in SoCal. Definitely a solid guess though! Thanks AspecR for informing him.

ECU mailed out to COBB for unlocking. Yeah not back on Hondata....yet. I got a deal I couldn't pass up on to try out the Access Port. When I had my 05 STI was the last time I had used an AP reflasher. That was when they still used the big brick lcd screen unit haha.

What's really great with COBB is that they unlock the ecu for "free" with purchase of the AP unit. They send you all the things you need to send it back to them with a pre-paid next day air UPS label. And they'll next day air it back once they unlock it. They confirmed with me they usually send it out the same day they receive it. So I could see it back in the car as early as Saturday. But I'll plan for a Monday reinstall.
