Hello everyone,

I'm excited to be a part of this forum, I recently got the new Honda Civic Type R FL5, and I've been hearing about "No Lift Shifting" in honda cars. Can someone please clarify if the FL5 model supports this feature, and if so, how to use it effectively? Any insights from experienced Honda owners would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I don´t think it is a standard feature but for sure it could be added later with hondata, ktuner or other method

I would not do it, why put extra wear on the trans for a few 10ths. Best way to do this is ignition cut so it unloads the transmission. But even then I would caution against it.

The main issue in the stock calibration is the anti jerk function is WAY to aggressive, so a lot of time is wasted on the gear shift.

It can be disabled with a tune.

are you referring to an ECU function or the clutch delay valve?

ECU function. Anti jerk function is there to prevent the car from acelerating and decelerating quickly when you go in a bumpy road.

The R has very stiff suspension so the function is very aggressive.

But the side effect is when you remove your foot from the throttle before a gear shift, the throttle plate closes slowly, same happens when you re-apply power after the next gear is engaged.

Hondata has a way around this.
