A little while back we had seen Honda testing out it's new hybrid system in a mule on track in the 11th
gen civics, but it seems they've finally revealed the design for two hybrid vehicles. One is a sedan, the other is a SUV - and this article reckons the sedan is a prototype for the new civic.

Is this the death of the compact car? Reminds me of the Toyota crown sedan, where the Japanese version is a sedan and the American one is lifted to appeal to the American SUV crowd.

I'm hoping it's the basis for the next accord and the civic will stay more compact looking at least.

It's trying really hard to be like a wagon, without any of the actual space upsides.

I'm the case of the crown, I still can't understand why they felt the need to lift it and give it the ugly plastic cladding

With everything being pushed as greener, I wonder what the aerodynamics look like on that ugly thing.

According to Grok, this is what the most aerodynamic possible vehicle wise design would look like.

The design above looks very un-green. A forest burner if you would.

I like it. Wheelbase looks kinda short, so it's probably a civic and not accord. I dont think accord is due for a new model in 27, but civic is. If they dont kill off type r, widebody would make it more aggressive.

Fugly is all I can come up with. Everybody is trying to make the most spaceship looking car instead of just making a nice looking car.

Yeah the AI render isn't so bad. I tried asking it to fix the wing and it gave me another car lol.

I'm reading other articles and it seems two publishers say it's an accord, but that makes little to no sense since the accord is relatively new compared to the civic and the production for a lot of Honda cars is being pushed out to accommodate for losses.

Everyone of them just seems to speculating for now though.

Its also just a concept car at this point. Honda usually is on the 5 year life cycle of a generation before they make any major changes outside of a facelift. So there's a couple more years left before any change would actually be announced.
