They sell jack pinch weld pads that just sit in the jack instead of this product, these are intended to be permanently installed.

jack. do you know of any. jack pads that are NOT permanently installed? I use my 2 post rotary to take care of a RSR Porsche race car also... and the pinch welds are so bad there it no longer matters!!

I have a set of Versus but after reading this thread decided not to put them on the car as even during daily driving if you left them on and they fell off on the highway it could cause a major accident.

Ordering some rubber ones from Amazon to use while I'm lifting the car instead.

Just recently got a 5000TLX. I have a question for you guys with QJ's.

I've been using the 'tall blocks' (the one that comes with the QJ's that looks like lego bricks). My question is - when you raise the QJ, and when the front pads are about to touch the front pinch weld jack points, I go to line it up better. Then I look at the rear, and the rear pads are still like a good 1.5 inches from touching the rear pinch weld jack points.

Do you guys also run into this? and if so, what do you do? do you stack 2 blocks for the rear? use the shorter block? (trying this next time) Will that amazon mag pinch weld on top of a lego block work better? Curious. It felt slightly unstable when bringing it back down. But I shook it when it was up and it felt stable enough so I did go under it. But you know. I just don't want to die randomly :p

I have the same experience with mine. But it’s probably due to my springs. I have a 1.2” drop in the front and 0.9” in the rear. Which results in the front blocks touching the front pinch welds first, then the rear. I have lifted the car multiple times like this already with no issues.

And for the rear, I don’t stack two blocks or use any pinch weld attachment pieces. I just use the bigger sized blocks or “tall blocks” as you called them, one on each corner. Small size blocks just collects dust in my garage, I still keep them incase my friends need a lift and can adjust accordingly to their cars.

Also once I have it at the highest point, I put two jack stands (in the front, directly under the pivot point of the Hydraulic cylinder) for extra safety. Mind you this thing is rated for 5000lbs too.. so you’re not really stressing the QJ at all. Given that you place the QJ in the right orientation of course.

I have both. I like the ZL1. If anyone wants brand new Verus lift pads that were just mounted for testing in the color black send me a message.

For 20+ years I've just cut a scrap piece of plywood to fit in the jack cup. Works great. Has some give and bite, so no slippage and doesn't harm the pinch welds. I replace them every few years as they wear.

I just posted this in another thread but I will post it here too. I am trying to convince myself to not buy it as its not super hard to drive up on some pieces of wood and jack from the center point. But as I get older, the more lazy I get with this stuff lol.

Instead of buying pinch weld adapters (unknown safety) and quick jacks (expensive) the u-jack seems like the middle ground pricing wise, and also the most efficient way to get the car up in the air.

Basically you jack the car up on the factory pinch welds and then slide a jack stand into the groove. Probably half the time for setup with the QJ.

Cuz I already have this next time I have to put car on stands I will use these

Also have rubber pads that install permantly on it so won't scratch the pinch welds.

Do still need to drive the car on ramps though, however with 2 of these just drive car on ramps, jack each side and lock the bottle jack/jackstand combo and you are good to go.
Not to mention I also have at least 3 methods keeping the car up so the ramps will still be under the front wheels just in case and then have the jack in the mid point as well just in case.
