What's the best money you've spent on your car that wasn't a power mod?

Just installed the Acuity 4-way adjustable shifter and cable bushings on my FL5. The stock shifter is good, but this new shifter is a game changer. It makes each shift feel more deliberate and mechanical, more gate definition & reduced the throws without going overboard.

Are you venting to atmosphere? Any issues? I’m also 41 and I want to giggle as well
Yes, VTA. No issues over 20 years of having many, many turbo cars over the years, including FK8 and FL5. Validated by logs and our tuners.

They are stock and ready to go if anyones interested

I would also suggest the Alcantara steering wheel, if you don't get it std in your market.

I’m asking because the consensus seems do be that VTA causes the car to run rich? What’s your take on this. Fact or myth?

It does run rich between shifts. But that doesnt really affect anything. If anything, running rich is preferred over running [too] lean (for all intents and purposes). fuel trims (LTFT and STFT), AFRs, all unaffected and within expected ranges/targets. Now, if you had a more universal VTA BOV (that you weld a flange to on IC piping) with a customizable spring (e.g. a Tial), and you have either too soft or too stiff of a spring, it could cause issues with driveability, idling, opening/closing issues, compressor surge, etc. that is where most of the "old wives" tale comes from is people just throw on BOVs without proper adjustment of the BOV (not really applicable on our cars that the BOVs are made specifically for, including SSQV). Of course in those cases, they run horrible and can cause issues.

Acuity shifter.
I was genuinely surprised
Acuity shifter.
I was genuinely surprised how good the shifter feel is after the Acuity shifter install. Honda shifters are generally pretty good stock but this mod is a game changer. With the new shifter & bushings, changing out the MT fluid the shifts are butter smooth but with a more deliberate, mechanical feel.
