Did a bunch of little maintenance items over the weekend. Engine and cabin filters, tire rotation, spark plugs, oil change, put EVEN MORE GREASE IN MY GODFORSAKEN CLUTCH FORK to keep it quiet and smooth

Here's what my spark plugs looked like after 60K miles, 9k of which tuned! I thought they looked decent but I don't really know what red flags on spark plugs look like beyond being burnt to hell or super sooty.

Gapped the new plugs down a smidge to 0.028. Unsure if that will really do much for me since I rarely ever use Map 3, but it's what all the cool kids are doing so I'm doing it too

Anyway, time for more reliability updates:

Total tuned time: 5 Months

Tuned miles driven: About 9K (went back and checked my maintenance notes, had more miles than I remembered!)

Tuning device(s) used: KTuner V2

Tunes used: Phearable 1.5R

Fuel used: 93 octane

Additional related mods: PRL HVI, Remark Link Loop exhaust, ARP Head studs, RV6 FK8 Retrofit Clutch kit, 27WON RMM, SiriMoto clutch damper valve delete, Swift springs with SPC camber arms, FL5 Rear swaybar

Problems/issues: None whatsoever.

Driving style: Highway commute (30-35 miles each way) with frequent WOT pulls, road trips, and autocross in the warm months

Tuning experience notes: This tune is so fucking good.

How do you like the fl5 rear sway bar, and do you wish you had gotten something thicker instead?

It does exactly what I wanted it to, which is: It makes it significantly more neutral during heavy cornering in autocross. You can even induce a little lift-off oversteer! I don't wish I got anything more aggressive because there's no need to make a FWD car super tail happy IMO

Where did you source your FL5 sway bar from, and was it a straight swap or did you have to get additional parts for the install?

IIRC I got it from a fella on reddit who swapped his swaybar off his Type R. Direct fit, no modification needed.

Tune experience notes: I haven't driven much lately, but the tune still rocks. The car feels like it's tied to an anchor when left in Normal drive mode. Hondata Mode in Sport drive mode makes a difference.

Tunes used: TSP Stage 1 (1 year) Drob etune (2 months)

Fuel used: 91 octane

Additional related mods: 27won gin (journal bearing), 27won 4bar, 27won CAI, 27won FMIC, 27won downpipe, prl front pipe, Magnaflow exhaust, Rv6 fk8 retro w/ exedy stage 0 clutch kit, inline pro head studs

misc - 27won snorkel, 27won FSTB, garage line 20mm spacers eibach lowering springs, prl rmm

Problems/issues: Clutch started feeling like crap after 1 year of living in TSP Stage 1 map 3 tune with frequent pulls and spirited driving. Eman said the head gasket had some wear (did proper head stud w/ new gasket and noticed some wear during install not the 1by1 method.) Spark plugs are good for another 10-20k miles. Clutch was shot

Driving style: Pulls here and there with some occasional spirited driving on highway/canyons

Tuning experience notes: The TSP stage 1 tune definitely woke the car up a bit. It actually was not fun in map 2-3 in city traffic for me personally. Outside of traffic it was fun but could still feel room for improvement.
If you intend on tuning your car please be prepared for an eventual clutch/head job to be done.

Custom Etune Drob - I added the custom etune when purchasing the 27won gin turbo with the other supporting parts (clutch, head studs, 4bar sensor). Starter tune for the gin turbo felt great once I was able to get on it after breaking in the clutch, currently on rev2 of the tune and it feels so much better than the starter tune and cannot wait until the tune is complete.

I was unable to find any videos or reviews for the most part of the 27won gin turbo so feel free to reply to this if you want any additional feedback/videos

91 oct tune is complete peaking at 27/28 psi - No issues!

Drob did great and the car has power all the way to redline with some extra pull around 5500/6k rpm? Redlines around 7100/7200 rpm now.

Have added an acuity short shifter (great improvement) Hybrid racing detent springs and acuity shifter bushings, not a huge improvement but somewhat noticeable? I definitely don't feel like I have to force 1st /2nd gear as much when downshifting and feels a lot more smooth.

I'm either going to get it Dyno'd this weekend or picking up a prl flexfuel kit and getting a flexfuel tune.


My guess would be around 270-290whp??? Can still manage 40mpg on the highway and 27~ in the city

I have the pre anti surge revision, literally released like a month after I bought mine.

Yes it squeaks LOL. Only when I barely tap into boost though, I've learned to live with it when it happens. I have the 27won cold air intake a mutes most of the turbo except for WOT. Lid off it squeaks in low boost, WOT/20+psi doesn't squeak

City driveability is perfectly fine.
Turbo spools a bit later and sometimes i need to downshift when I normally wouldn't need to in order to pass someone or catch a light. I guess I've adjusted my driving and haven't really thought about that until now.
