I had some concern about this as well as the weight of the resonator making the passenger-side tip hang a little lower. I found some slightly shorter hangers for the front of the rear muffler section and some poly hangers with offset holes for the rear that allowed a minor adjustment.

Thanks for sharing! Do you have a part number or link to these?

They’re not always available, last time I checked they weren’t but looks like they are now! https://a.co/d/09ppfCTE

much appreciated!

Besides this, the MXP was a great exhaust to have! It’s already off the car as I have moved on to testing the ARK Catback that was released last month. I’ll talk about this in my next post.

A local FL5 friend who will be taking the MXP has seen your recommendation about the hanger.

ARK Catback Exhaust installed, and I’ve been living with it for the past two weeks.

Between my FK8 and FL5, I’ve had about 10 different exhaust setups, and this one is definitely up there when it comes to delivering a really smooth, deep tone.

Construction is beautiful. It uses flanged joints throughout, except at the muffler, which I’m assuming was done to allow for some adjustment. I still would’ve preferred flanges all the way through, but I understand the reasoning.

I specifically asked ARK for both the resonated and straight-pipe center sections, since they’re easily swappable. I’ve been running the resonated version to start, and I’ll switch over to the non-resonated section sometime in the next month.

I was hoping the resonated version would keep the volume close to the MXP, but without a valve, it is just a bit louder than that. Nowhere near obnoxious, and still completely manageable for most people. If I were to rate the Hybrid and MXP exhausts as mild, I’d put this one in the medium range. I'd say it's as loud as AWE Touring, and a tad lower than HKS Hi-Power.

When I’m driving by myself, the windows are usually down and I’m just enjoying the tone from inside the car. If I’m on the highway with my wife, I’m a little more mindful of certain RPM ranges and throttle inputs to keep things tamed. There is some hum in the cabin after 70mph, although part of that can likely be attributed to the stiffer motor mounts as well.

If you’re looking for a medium-volume exhaust without a valve, with a nice deep tone, the ARK is definitely worth adding to your short list.

Full video will be posted on YouTube next month :)

@Unity Performance does this system include a front pipe? Also, what is the weight and piping dimensions?
No FP, and this is a 3" system.

Non-Resonated Version: Approximately 46 lbs
Resonated Version: Approximately 49 lbs

Looking at getting the Fujitsubo exhaust + front pipe (#270-52114 + #610-52115). I noticed that the FP has a slightly larger diameter, just want to make sure if this combo wont cause a CEL on stock tune. The only other mod I have is the PRL intake.

Thanks

I have both, there will be no CEL if properly installed.

I’m about to make a final decision on an exhaust. It’s between Apexi, Fujitsubo and HKS Hi Power. I wanted to look at Remark Q spec but apparently it’s being revised and not available.

How do you like the Fujitsubo? I‘ve heard that it’s marginally louder than the OEM exhaust. Do you find it to be worth the cost given that it’s a slip fit system and not flange based? Would you buy it again?

Did my own research and would 100% buy Fujitsubo again.

I reviewed this system a couple years back, check my post history. I would absolutely buy it again. If you're looking for a loud(er) system, look elsewhere.

As for slip joint vs. flange, it's been sensationalized on this forum. It's a non-issue. From the turbo back there are four connections, two slip fit, two flange. There are pros and cons of each connection type that I won't get into. It's quite simple: if you install the system properly, you won't have any issues.

FYI - FGK recently released a new part number for the FL5 - 360-52121.The A-S exhaust is an SUS product that consists of just the rear muffler.
