This is just insane, I don't even believe it that a dealership is going that out of the way for you. Did you pay 25adm or something??
Nope, haha. 99% of the dealers are complete trash through. I had to weed through a lot of garbage to find one good dealer.

I’m not proud of it but I paid $5,555 over MSRP + $699 dealer fee with the delivery included and no add ons. Not horrible since there were no local options and shipping would have run $1,300-$1,900 for a reputable carrier.

Most importantly, I got the exact spec I wanted and trusted the dealer.

The way I looked at it was if I found a car out of state for $3,000 over and they had a $1,000 dealer fee. I’m at $4,000 + transport and I’m nearly at the same number.

I don’t think most people realize how much a dealer fee, transport, trade in and financing can alter a deal.

Why don't you believe it?

I can confirm everything he said is true. He locked in this deal a while back, using the lists I posted. No one called that dealer when he got in touch with them. They were happy to have a no non-sense, serious buyer without having to do any legwork, so they accommodated him.

Lets be frank. It probably only costed dealer 500 dollars to ship it to him since they prolly have networks lol. Shipping cost 2K+ if individual tries to get it. Dealership profited still 5K lol

@AspecR I saw so many car delivered in GA. Why can't one truck go and drop them off. Is it coming in another truck from California ?

It’s all logistics my young padawan. Honda has deemed it unnecessary to do a Type R specific delivery system. So they have to wait until other cars for that specific dealer comes in. That’s the one of the main reasons for the delays. The trucks have to be filled with other cars for that dealer before they can move out.

Just shocked a dealership is agreeing to drive 13hrs to deliver a car, I've never heard of that.. Definitely great for the customer though. up here in new England, dealers will deliver the car within 1-2hrs but anything more they typically have you arrange shipping

It’s dealer dependent really, so he got lucky because the dealer I worked with does not ship at all and I was asking them to ship my car to a friend in the same state lol.

Ive personally sent cars as far as Texas, included in the deal. Just did a civic si to SC because the customer wanted Sonic Grey and couldn’t find one at a reasonable price in their state.

Hey guys so since we're talking about deliveries I had a related query: the dealership I'm getting my Type R is 2hrs away from here and they've agreed to deliver it to my place (charged me $250 for it). Before anyone asks why not drive it home the dealer is in Massachusetts, and Massachusetts for some weird reason has a law which doesn't allow temporary plates, so there's no way I can drive through Massachusetts without registering it in Maine. I thought they'll use a pickup to trailer it to my place but looks like the salesman was hinting at driving the car to my place with another car with him which would take him back. I don't think anyone would want someone else to put miles on their brand new car before them, especially a special one like the Type R. I never had a new car before so I don't know how registering it works; do I need to have the car in person to have the plates? The car is financed, so are there any additional documents I would need? I was thinking if I could register it without having the car yet, I could get the plates and then go to the dealership, put the plates on, and drive back myself. Please let me know if that's possible or if there's any better option. Don't want the salesperson to drive the car before me lol and live in the fear of having it thrashed to the redline on the way here.

I would get insurance on it then just put an old plate on it if the dealer would let you. Or just make a trip and get the paperwork complete. Then to the ME DMV and back to the dealer with the real plate. 2 hours isn't too bad to make 2 trips.

I may be buying one from a few states away. I'm a believer in varying the RPMs during break-in so I wouldn't want to drive 5 hours on the highway home. Plus I'm not using it in the winter so unless it warms up soon and the roads get cleaned up I'm going to try and rent an enclosed trailer to pick it up.
