Accidentally put half a tank of 87 octane in my Type R. Anything to worry about?

Had a brain fart and topped the car up with 87, so I guess I'm mid grade now.
Any worries seeing as I drive like Grandma most days and generally top it off once a week, or around half a tank of use?

If the car isn't tuned, it's a non-issue. Take it easy as a precaution and make certain to fill up on premium unleaded fuel next time. FYI - Per Honda, required for fuel the Civic Type R is Regular Unleaded; however, Premium is recommended.

What OP can do is drive until almost half a tank left, then fill 4 gallons of 100 Octane if you have access to that rather close (about 50 miles)

The point of that is to bring the tank of gas back to 91. You can also use Octane calculator to help determine how much gas you need.

Do not use Octane Booster as large quantities is bad for catalyst and engine (coats with orange substance you don't want)

Take it easy and you should be fine. Run it down as low as you are comfortable with and then fill back up with 93.

You'll be fine. When I got my car the dealership filled it up with 87 also.

Might not be a great idea to go racing on it, but overall zero impact whatsoever.

Putting 100 octane in sounds fun, like eating super organic golden meadow raised beef.

I wouldn’t worry. I also did the same because the gas station I went to had octane in reverse. I drive pretty tame on the street and the computer will sort it out. Just keep the the low. I would be more scared with a tune.

it will pull timing/boost when it detects knock to protect itself. not ideal, especially in the summer heat, but shouldn't cause any damage. i'd drive with a light foot.

Like many have said earlier, don’t boost it as a precaution
