This article is a decent read.

The way I see it, people just need to stop buying. Seems like in USA, as long as people keep buying they will keep charging more and even adding mark ups. Maybe in Canada the government does a better job at controlling prices, while in the States it's just a free for all?

Too much money in the system. Thats why fed is doing QT. But either way, it takes about 2 years to get the inflation down.

They just need to send out more stimmies in the meantime, before inflation goes down. Help us out, you know?

It was tough but just passed on a rally red with a $10k ADM.
Now to wait for a manual Supra below msrp or the upcoming M2.

So with a Boost Blue Type R at $44,400, I'm considering alternatives.

Mazda 3 Premium 6mT for $32k
Civic Si for $30k
Civic hatch ST for $32k

Of those three I'd probably get the Si due to the LSD - prefer a hatch but I loved my 2020 Si so I can live with a sedan. I'll be in the market in 2 years, if ADMs are still around I'll get the Si.

My guess is the Fed will wimp out/pivot and start lowering rates again eventually. They won't be able to stomach it politically when the economy will crash and job losses will be catastrophic. Plus, at high rates, they will have a tough time servicing just the interest on the national debt, never mind the principal. So political expediency will eventually win out and they will choose the "less worse" course in their eyes and inflate away the currency.

Also, a strong usdx is just relative to other currencies. It's still down in real terms, it's just that the other currencies have been devalued even worse. We're merely the cleanest shirt in the dirty hamper.

In Canada they are forecasting reductions won't happen until end of 2023, early 2024.

My backup plan is a more expensive and capable car.

Got lucky and found a 23 at MSRP plus $599 tint. They are only selling locally though and every other store I contacted in the state had markups or just overpriced addons.
