Even if the DE5 were the same price as as the CTR, I think I'd still go with the CTR because it just looks more aggressive with the sculpted body panels (instead of the tacked on looking flares) and the wing. The DE5 front end is what bugs me although the rear end looks ok (only because I don't think Honda nailed it on the CTR either).

Everything else in the DE5 interior is pretty nice, but still, the R seats are more aggressive and comfy. I wish Honda would have given us a sunglass holder and put the Type R emblem at the bottom of the steering wheel as in the DE5's Type S ... geeze, even the GTI gets their GTI logo there. I want a new steering wheel! :bat:

Yeah, my vote is for the CTR and I'm over 40. Your kids will like it better too! :headbang:

This post in the integra forums with a few words swap will have the same results but against the FL5. 😄

For me they are the same dog with different collards.🤷🏻‍♂️
Agreed.

There's a lot of overlap with membership between the two forums since a lot of the mechanical aspects between the two are shared. That being said, I find it funny how there's so much vitriol against the DE5.

Like most, I love the Type R badge. I'd have been happy with an FL5 but ultimately after seeing the two back to back, the DE5 won me over.

There's one right now, and actually zero trashing the FL5. But plenty of trashing of FL5 owners who are triggered over the ADM they paid.

Absolutely, 100% this. I love my ITS because it's a true do-it-all car. It is my daily, and my track car, and it does both equally well (despite not having the CTR seats, if you can believe it).

Not that it is a terrible option, but I don't see the point in mandating a sedan if you don't have that extra requirement. A90 Supra is the first place I'd look, assuming the car had to be new. It's like, categorically better than the FL5 especially if power is something you enjoy.

But honestly, as a dedicated track/weekender? I'd look used. E36, any Porsche, ZL1, GT350, M2, Coyote-swapped Fox Body 🤡, the list goes on. Better value, less stress about tracking a new car, no warranty to worry about for modifications... whatever, I've said my piece.

Now if I can get people to stop piling on to trash the DE5... :confused1:

edit- I just noticed the reference to the bolt on and tune. WTF? It has nothing to do with the fat guy sitting next to you and everything to do with that...

And an RS3 is "too small" but an FL5 isn't?

What's going on with this board lately... also my attention to detail is terrible. I think it's been ABPDE5 pointing obvious things out that I miss twice in the last couple days.
I have a good friend that works at my local Audi dealership to inquire about a RS3 and they’re $69k sticker + $10k ADM + $5,600 tax = $85k doesn’t seem worth it even if he could get a couple thousand off. Neither does a used two year old used one for $75k with tax.

I am considering the Lexus is500 as those are dipping down into the $57k-$58k range if I can’t get a type r for close to MSRP. But type r is still number 1 on the list

Obviously a lot of dealers suck and it sounds like yours is one of the bad ones, but I've seen a couple RS3s go for under MSRP now. There's a lot of inventory currently. Used examples are listed for insane money because dealers bought them when supply was low. But now they're sitting because it's easy to buy a new one at MSRP.

I think it’s with everything down here in south Florida, it’s just that a lot of people have a lot more money so demand is high for everything nice.

As we have all heard, the FL5 is going for MSRP in smaller states but AspecR is one of the cheapest in South Florida at $2,000 ADM + $800 dealer fee + tax = $3,000 over…

I guess I can thank the Real estate market, tourism and onlyfans down here for the to many people with money problem 😂🤣

Cost of living is low relative to California, and no state taxes either.

But way too hot, WAY too many old people, and way too much drug/cartel activity for my blood. Plus the culture war thing with Florida at the epicenter is really tiresome.

Not that Maryland is such a wonderful place, but you can keep Florida lol.

Be like everyone else and find some midwest dealer and get it shipped or give it a proper maiden voyage home. :dunno:

Yeah I hear you. Type Rs are still marked up in the PNW so I bought mine from Oklahoma at MSRP and had it shipped. But here it's easy to get an RS3 at MSRP as the local dealer doesn't mark their new cars up.

it is hot and traffic is getting worse. Thankfully I work midnights!

But all the other stuff isn’t a problem, our governor was overwhelmingly voted back into office(Miami Dade voted republican for first time in 30 years). You don’t ever hear any complaints about him other than from the LGBT community. Most democrats that I know that voted Dem for President, made an exception and voted Rep for the Governor.

I don’t care about politics. The only research I do is on cars lol

Politics are terrible we can definitely agree there. We had a pretty solid Republican governor in MD here for a while too that had a lot of Democrat fans. I really do wish it could go back to what at least felt like the good ol' days in the 90s and 00s where it wasn't so much of an "us vs them" thing but I digress.

There are too many old people though. Last time I was in South Florida, literally within SECONDS of walking out of the door from the airport, a frickin octogenarian in a Lincoln runs into the back of a cab. I wish I was making this up.

believe me… I do multiple crash reports everyday and it’s either illegal immigrants or old people. Rarely fails.

Hard sell to give up the best driver's seat I have ever sat in, a way cooler interior, and the edgy feel of an FK8 just to get better exhaust sounds out of a car. Yeah, hard pass.

But not knocking the ITS, it does get some things right, just think they zigged where they should have zagged in a few areas.
Looks are of course subjective - I didn't hate the exterior styling when I saw it, but it looks heavier than the FK8.

Are ITS’s selling or are they sitting on the lots? Are they doing discounts off of MSRP?

They're selling, make no mistake about that. But you may be able to find a situation where a dealer has a good amount of inventory, and you can get a good deal. We're at the very end of the model year, and production cycle recently hit its peak- but that doesn't mean every dealer benefits from that. I'm not sure on what the calculus is but my local dealer hasn't gotten a Type S for months. Other dealers have as many as a dozen on their lot.

So it depends. At least one person has reported getting an ITS under MSRP- but there's also plenty others reporting that dealers are still asking for an ADM.
