Thanks for the video. I bought one of these modules awhile ago, but have not installed it yet. Really good insight and critique about the harness length. Would definitely make it easier if you were able to access the module switches from the light panel after installing rather than needing to take off the entire hatch panel. Wonder if there is a harness extension out there that you can use to do that. :hmm:

Extra spicy IMO. Not a fan of all brake lights blinking, so, I think it’s perfect.

A few members asked if I can make an install video for this plug and play module that makes your third brake light flash like F1, so here it is. Thanks Christian for supplying the module!
For those interested, this is the original thread from @NHCivicGuy :

Thanks for the great install video, Phothrottle!
A bit embarrassed to admit that when this video released yesterday evening, I was passed out in a food coma, 😴 Doh!
... So I didn't see the video until this morning.
Typical kind of luck for me. Whaddya gonna do, ammiright?

I'm looking at the module now and I'm thinking if I cut the wire between the module and connecter the goes to the light. You will be able to extend the module to the light port. Also if you do it that way you can feed the the wire through the grommet. Then there is no need to cut the grommet.

My car came with a similar module installed from the dealer, as a dreaded add-on that couldn't be removed (and thus, horribly overpriced). I don't remember the name, but it comes with policy/guarantee against rear end collisions, and if one happens they pay out. I never want to find out if its true...

When I looked up this brand's install guides (which I will get when I can dig out the paperwork on it), I'm pretty sure its a hardwired connection where they pull the grommet at the roof and tap there. Unfortunate, as cutting wires is never a good solution

Alas, great video and info! Thanks for the share

I'm not either, but I'm always down to watch an install video 😂😂.

My ideal would be to flash at a certain pedal position. Not sure if the car already monitors brake pedal position, but taking advantage of that for a different function would probably be much more complicated than an add-on module. An additional switch under the pedal could do it.

I'm sure in the future when everything is computer controlled this will just be a tune setting.
