@Fortheboyz I didn’t experience rough idle, despite the fact 2-3 of my valves were slightly out of spec (from the factory), and caused misfires, which then triggered 2 CELs at completely random times within the first 3k miles. It seems I had a rather unique situation as I haven’t read about anyone else with this particular problem…but maybe you’re also one of the few?

At any rate, just take the car in to Honda for a diagnostic. Even if all they do is clear the CEL, if it happens again, they have to call Honda tech support (assuming it is the same code) and fix it.

Oh it's already at the dealer and they had no idea what it is and didn't clear any codes or anything they just went straight to Honda tech support day 1.

That's probably not a great sign ....

Well, they didn’t know what the codes were for mine either, BUT my car ran fine (though rev limited)…which seems maybe that’s not the same your case. Rough idle, that’s no good! I’m wondering if it’s the fuel pump? Honda has had problems with these over the last few years.

Just over 10k miles and when I parking my car last night got all the fun error messages. Haven't hooked a scanner up yet, will tomorrow. Need to get this sorted before my track day on the 25th.

Plugged my OBD scanner in, started the car and... no codes? Dash is clear. I will just have to play the wait and see game I guess.

Mine just popped again at 17k miles. 4-5 errors whole dash lit up on way home from getting gas and groceries lol. I have time scheduled for Friday but will plug in and find out what code later today. Has to be the same. No boost, no rev match, departure, cruise, emissions and brake system lit. Only mod is catback. Thinking it could be sams club 92.

Replace VTC Selenoid
Replace TDC sensor (top dead sensor)
Is this the “fix”?
Thanks!

we shall see. my 2025 type R just got hit with an "emission system" problem see dealer cel and rev match failure. If this is about new parts wouldnt it be integrated into the 25 model?
I dread taking the car in to service dept but here we go.

Yeah. The CEL message is generic. The code is what determines what’s actually wrong and if parts are needed.

so mine came back as

P0087 Fuel rail pressure low..

They just cleared it and checked and said good to go. they said if it happens again, they would start with the high pressure fuel pump, so this seems like a different issue than the ones above.

They also said, this occured at 3500 rpm at 95 MPH..and ina tone that implied this was the real problem....

and said because the cars are only covered for warranty up to 65 mph, that this was beyond that..they kept brining up 95 mph like i was some criminal. the car likes to cruise at 90 mph, and it's a type R, not a CRV.

I think the car should be able to handle 95 mph at 3500 rpm.

Honda America needs to get their messaging straight, i would never blame 95 mph as the reason theres not enough fuel being delivered. im getting used to this new community, ive never been a honda guy, but this is some weak $hit. A rep dealing with an AMG , M car or even S badged audi would never blame going 95 as a justifiable reason why the fuel pressure gave out. thats embarassing, and if the Type R wants to compete then you need to be able to handle 3500 rpm in 6th gear. i didnt bother telling them it was on a track, that would just further their excuses.

@lilDumpsterRat Sounds like your dealership is making shit up. Tell them to SHOW you where Honda states that ANY of their vehicles (particularly performance models made for tracking) aren’t warranted beyond 65 mph. Note that Honda has been dealing with fuel pump issues for a few years now, though they seem less common nowadays. Besides that, what do they care about how fast you’re driving? It’s like they’re trying to guilt trip you into falsely admitting you broke your car…which might open the door to them charging you to fix it. They don’t make money from warranty work, but if they can open your wallet instead…well then…their motivation is quite clear.

And then ask them why Honda would honor any warranty in mountain west states with regular speed limits higher than 65mph and up to 80mph (85 if you are in Texas.) If this were the case every Honda in Idaho, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, and Texas would be out of warranty on the first entry onto a freeway there.

I agree with TypeRD. This is "their" thing, and not a "Honda" thing.

There is a TSB software update for this. They cleared my cell, updated and good to go.
