Been using the Improved Racing CCS for a few years now, had it previously on my 23 Sport Touring. When I traded it in, I made sure to hold on to it and just recently installed it on my FL5. Works great, easy to install. So much easier to service it compared to others. I had a Mishimoto catch can on my 10th Gen and that thing was a pain to service. I had to practically uninstall it and use a vise to remove the can.

I second that the Mishimoto can is a pain. I have to remove the 3 tiny bolts and remove the unit to emply. Impossible to unscrew the can while it is mounted. It is only a matter of time before I lose one of those tiny bolt/screws.

i thought the PCV system was so well-designed that a catch can wasn't necessary on these engines.

That is the online debate and my thought process is i would rather be provactive than reactive. There is no harm in adding a catch can, just a bit more work for maintenance but I'm ok with that.

This is a really good design for maintenance. It reminds me of the UPR can I had on my GT350 with the quick disconnects. Very OEM-quality and easy to service!

I am very curious to see you report back with how much oil is actually collected. The consensus on these engines is that a catch can just isn't necessary. It certainly was on my GT350, I still have a roughly 1/3 full bottle of oil that I recovered from that car's passenger-side catch can.

I have this can and guess what, as usual they used 3/8" lines. You can't use a 5/16" clamp on a 3/8" hose. So now they can either replace them with the proper 5/16" or I am returning it. At $300 I shouldn't have to buy parts to make it work. If you put 3/8" hoses on 5/16" fittings you will have a vacuum leak and your car will run rich. Seems like every catch can maker does this and I have gone through this with multiple vehicles. Also this one does not have a check valve and you should really use one.

I found this t-bolt clamp that is a perfect fit for the molded collar around the vacuum port on the intake manifold:

btw I have had the Mishimoto and was always able to twist off the bottom while gripping the top with my other hand. Then have to pass it between hands to get it out which can be a little tricky, but yea I didn’t remove the entire can:
