I unplugged it from the dash and can actually use the exhaust sound in sport/+r mode now. before the fake noise actually had drone to me. Now it's still quiet, but at least sport exhaust mode is usable now
Yeah I know. I hate that I have to take the dash apart to do this. It’s dumb and could be so much simpler via software update.

I referred to it as a Vacuum cleaner because the volume is low and wimpy not because the car produces a sucking sound... Come on man this isn't that complicated, Honda F***ed up. We are going around in circles for no reason. We all agree on the basic fact that the car's sound is lacking. It's too muted and could have/should have been different. They could have made this car sound like the ITS and nobody would blink. If anybody ACTUALLY believes that a CTR with an "ITS like" sound wouldn't be able to be sold anywhere in the world outside of the USA because of "noise restrictions" I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell you.
Our cars sounds like a vacuum cleaner that has sucked up a plastic bag over the vacuum hose.

Anyone have a DIY tutorial on how to delete the large resonator?
Would be helpful if the required tools and parts were listed too.

There isn’t much to it. All you need is like a 2ft section of straight 2.5” stainless exhaust piping, a reciprocating saw and a welder (or some slip on exhaust clamps to do it on the cheap but I wouldn’t recommend it). Pull the OEM exhaust off the car, cut the resonator out and weld (or clamp) on the appropriate length of the SS piping then put the exhaust back onto the car. That’s it, there is nothing special about doing this.To pull the exhaust you have to remove the lower rear diffuser, disconnect the plug to the electronic exhaust valve and then you’re just pulling the hangers off the rubber bushings. If you can weld and have a lift this whole process would take you less than an hour.

Here's a driving video with the smaller front resonator delete. First part is with the valve closed/in factory setting, second part of the video is with the valve locked open/fuse pulled. Video starts with a cold start too.

Sounds great imo. I just wish Honda programmed the exhaust valve to act like it does in the Integra Type S, dependent on drive mode instead of throttle position/revs.

WAY better than OEM. In fact, I'd argue this is the best I've heard this car sound through a video. Inside and out, including aftermarket options.

The single best choice they made for the ITS was to move away from that awful synthetic sound in the cabin... worst execution of that in any car I've experienced and would be literally the first thing I did if I bought a CTR.

This solution in this video is the way.

Awesome vid Topher! You are becoming the go to guy for the FL5 and I think this exhaust combo is perfect in sound and volume. If I ever get one of these I think I will do the following to make it perfect:

1. Disconnect ANC
2. Front res delete and valve fuse pull
3. ITS ADS module

Looking forward to your ITS ADS review once you install it.

This is with the fuse pulled. Mid resonator deleted. For comparisons sake for when I remove the front resonator as well.
