Which Aftermarket Exhaust Do You Have?

Yes, that’s why I’m in between them two. I asked them if they plan to trim back the tips for the FL5, but I’m still waiting on an answer. That’s the other thing too: they have the burn tip. Why does almost everyone do that? It looks nice on every other color but on the boost blue, in my opinion, it looks odd. So, I’m really still trying to figure out what will be my last mod. Basically, I want something that sounds good but really not obnoxious. I’m getting old. I hear the cars with the exaggerated pops and bangs, and I look at them like the meme of Clint Eastwood on Gran Torino . That why I want to install something that is like the Hybrid Racing, but the mid pipe stays stock.

not a fan of blue tips myself but they don't look bad on certain exhaust (remark ti is actually quite nice the blue-ing).

I dunno how the balled is made but that company does not have great rep for quality

I might opt for hybrid racing with polished tips and call it a day. It doesn’t look bad and doesn’t sound too loud.

I prefer 3 tip but I think as far as 2 tips go its one of the best looking. Does not sound obnoxious at all and I like the valve controller box, a bit annoying that you have to run a wire to the fuses but its a nice touch and can always just not install that.

Sounds about right, Alibaba exhausts aren't as bad as the internet would have you believe, the problem is there is a stigma attached to them that most would rather not deal with.

Ali baba carbon fiber is actually really good (as long as you go to a reputable seller).

The last iteration works with the OEM motor for the valve, which is another reason I like it. If I don’t get the rattle on it, it is definitely a winner. The three tips are the go-to, but I don’t like the design on the ones out there because most of them are the whole thing from the downpipe down, and most don’t offer adjustment on the tips. But probably I’m being too annoying to get an exhaust for the car, and that’s why I’m looking at everything.

You retain the triple tips, the valve, get the burbles abd pops ITS has AND make more power all for the price of or less than an aftermarket exhaust!

Exhaust shops near me don’t want to do the work because they don’t know the reasoning behind it, as they do the Hellcats and all that but will not touch the FL5. I really don’t want a down pipe, and I don’t want to deal with the hassle of the studs breaking off .

I said it a couple of times: I was set on the Hybrid Racing exhaust because the tips can be adjusted to sit flush with the bumper. I found one that contradicts what I’m looking for, but I also read that aftermarket exhausts with valve springs start rattling regardless of the brand.

I found the Ballede Sport on the Two Step Performance website, but it seems like they basically designed it for the FK8 and probably just lengthened it to fit the FL5. The tips extend past the bumper, but they sell a cover that makes them look shorter. I think I could trim them, but I’m not sure. I also like that the sound isn’t too aggressive—at 6 AM, I won’t wake up the neighbors.

I really give up on whatever I want because I wish I could get the Spoon exhaust or the Blitz to retain the three tips, but I really don’t feel like paying and waiting for a part for a long time because they are a "small company." But here are the videos of that exhaust.

I just got off chat with Humza over at unity and it seems like he hasn't read of anyone or personally experienced any valve rattle.

The Hybrid racing exhaust is also slightly lighter than the OEM (53lbs versus OEM 54lbs) one and retains the OEM valve + a remote to force the valve. The sound also meets my requirements since I don't want a rattle can.

Currently have my sights set on it, but we'll see if a better option appears...

That’s what I’ve been trying to tell people, if you find a reputable and verified seller, then the quality is just as good and in some cases better than the JDM stuff.

Weight-wise, I don’t mind because I won’t feel any different if I weigh less than the OEM or more. The remote also doesn’t affect me; I wasn’t planning on using it regardless because I want to get as close to stock as possible. That’s why I suggested and looked into the Balled exhaust. I don’t want to be obnoxious. With the Hybrid, I retain the OEM motor, but with the other, I need something to avoid the soft check engine light. I already bought it just in case something else comes up, but so far, Hybrid racing is the winning option. However, there aren’t many sound clips available inside the cabin, and all the ones I found are just a minute long.

I had a function werk front pipe for my 2.0NA hatch and it was a quality piece. I also ran a function werk exhaust and it sounded great imo
