I would love to make it out west one day for a track day or 5. Looks like a blast. Is that your home track @J1Avs ?
Yup! That's my home track. I occasionally go to Portland, Pacific, and ORP...but Ridge definitely dominates my track time. It's just a fantastic drive, in a beautiful part of the state, and I take a Ferry to get there and back combined with a great canal drive. Vibes for days

just going to move the Miata talk here and keep the spring thread more about the spring

wish had the budget to do both projects, but modifying the civic is very satisfying and since I daily it, i enjoy it more.

Miata was supposed to be the track car after the Civic first one hit the wall, and when I had the DE5, but getting another FL5 changed that big time. No motivation except to get the garage back

Lets see this miata!
It has a turbo? what else you gotta get done to it?

I met someone that had a turboed miata but he sold it, it kept overheating on track and he could nto for the life of him figure out why. I get it though, you want a lil more power. I would probably keep it NA though, I love driving slow cars fast, pedal pinned all the time lol

I was building the NC Miata for the SCCA Club Spec CSX class in Time Trials/Time Attack. But paying the $4k for the Penske coilovers kind of put that on back burner. I do have most of everything else needed outside of the coilovers and wheels

I put in a NC2 engine and trans in the NC1. I changed the rear wheel bearings, and swapped out all the boots, and changed a few arms. but need to bolt it back together, put the interior back in and put wheels back on so I can at least roll it outside.

Whelp, guess this official now (signed up last week right when it opened for members). Not expecting peak competitiveness vs. the other cars in Street but it should be fun.

Depends on who shows up, but will be fun though!!

Road Atlanta and Mid-Ohio will be excellent!

And come play with us at VIR at the end of May

It's been years since I've been to Road Atlanta, and I've never actually driven Mid-Ohio (or CMP for that matter), so definitely looking forward to it.

I have VIR on the calendar and would really like to join but I can only sneak away so many weekends with a 2yo at home so I may have to pass on that one, especially with everything else around it.

Castrol SRF: How long would you leave it in on a lower mile daily w/ 6 or so track weekends scheduled for 2025? I've had it in for a HPDE weekend since fall of 2024. Think I'll be good for 2025?

every season I replace it. I don't think it has to do with how many days you did but a time thing, from what I understand these high boiling point fluids are more susceptible to absorbing water which you DO NOT want. SRF is one of the best at not doing that but still recommended to be changed every year. Also with FCP euro its free changes for ever

Yes, I think I'm going to change it this spring just so I have peace of mind. I got mine from FCP also  Changing expensive fluid early is basically halfway to being a professional driver.

I don't mind the changes; I just don't like getting the quick jacks setup ? I wish I had room for a more permanent setup.
