The lower lip that leads up the intercooler inlet ducting has a larger top surface area leading to a smoother transition to the intercooler itself. Which in theory should force a greater volume of air through the heat exchangers vs rolling around the bottom side of the lip and under the vehicle or off to the sides. How did they achieve better thermal management? with mostly the same hardware?
Is it something we can replicate on our stock FL5s?
And how much better can it be?
There are large gaps under the OEM intercooler and above the lower bumper support that air can actually escape through that may be closed up by the new lower facia design which would further help cooling performance.
From the parts catalogue images, I am encouraged to believe that the part can be installed on pre facelift bumpers. However, because of the changes in shape and profile, exiting lip kits will not fit, and facelift lip kits will need to be developed.
