Many of you out there are interested in tuning your cars, but not all of these cars will see track duty, which is perfectly fine! There's nothing wrong with being a street warrior!!! Street tunes tend to be very punchy and fun, and often put out some impressively solid horsepower and torque...
Just confirmed with a Honda Master Technician that what I have written above here is indeed the correct way to bleed the brakes. So I'll be shooting a brand new video to showcase the "factory procedure" for how this is done.
Side note: I could be wrong here, but my immediate though on this is...
I get requests occasionally to make how-to videos. I was asked recently to make a video showing the procedure to complete a coolant exchange. So here it is. Needed to do it since it's getting much colder outside, and the track focused mixture I had was only good down to 10 degrees.
Short answer, yes! @TW00Si this is for you! I appreciate the idea!
These are a great "driver mod" investment! You should consider buying one of these before adding more power!
Hey guys and gals!
Just wanted to make this thread to mirror what they've got going on at CivicX for the FK8 crowd. This can be the catch all for all track photos and videos!
We can also use this thread for discussion relating to track setups and strategy!
I've already posted up a few videos...
In this video I discuss the benefit of brake upgrades, and how they contribute to improved lap times! I also show how easy it is to swap pads on my AP/Essex brake kit!
I was talking to @Jester04 yesterday, and thought it might be interesting to post this up since I'm in a unique scenario where I've owned an FK8 and now own an FL5. This is a comparison in my best lap times at Virginia International Raceway between the two cars. In the FK8 I was able to run .59...
I've assembled some highlights of my experience at OktoberFast at VIR, but I also show some bloopers at the end. Made some new friends while I was there that I got to run around the track with (White Porsche's). HPDE track etiquette is super important. The bloopers in the end show some crazy...
Here's my video of my experience installing the PWR Track Spec Radiator! Hope it saves all of you some time when going to install this item yourself should you choose to purchase!
It appears it's still possible to overheat a stock FL5 on track. Stock tune, PRL intercooler and HEL oil cooler...and that's it. Before you guys beat me up to bad for not noticing...let me just say that I was laser focused on A) not crashing the car B) not over revving the engine C) not hitting...
Guys, wanted to share my thoughts on basic track prep and track essentials. Made a video following my experience at CMP this past weekend. Anything else you guys can think of that I missed?
I've got an upcoming track event in 4 weeks, and my HEL oil cooler finally arrived! I installed it today, but to my dismay there are key differences between the FL5's we receive here in the states, and the ones that are built for countries overseas!. Despite this I was able to create a...
I have roughly 1300 miles on my FL5, and I chose to follow the recommended break-in in the manual. I still don't really beat on the car very hard. It's probably only seen full throttle a handful of times and maybe one or two of those were full throttle attempts to redline.
I've noticed a few...
