Thanks and I am curious...Were those logs recorded while also using the OEM downpipe and OEM turbo/downpipe shielding?
Yea I haven't touched turbo or downpipe. I am tuned however with a jester track tune so a bit more conservative.

We're waiting for our shipment of HKS intercooler kits to arrive. Really excited for them and do some real world testing and logging. Tube & fin ultimately nets lighter material weight and theoretically more efficient over B&P (not 1:1 - many factors involved), but ones like the PRL do have billet end tanks which is also a popular IC we sell, albeit quite heavy unit.

For a mod to help keep things much cooler under the hood, I would suggest considering thermal shielding to add to the downpipe in particular. That would help insulate the large surface area and high temps from radiating to other components.

Here is the build thread for my car where I am installing parts individually over time. Overall, my plan is to stick with the OEM turbo and fuel system. I recently added thermal shielding to the turbo and downpipe areas where they resulted in the most noticeable improvement in reducing under hood temps to help keep coolant and IATs in check.

Do you know if we can run the hks intercooler with stock pipping or we do we need the hks specific piping kit?

Yes, there is both options available: intercooler itself to reuse OEM piping or the full kit with aluminum IC piping and silicone hose kits.

Also can purchase the piping kit separately if you want to upgrade later.

Here is the link for the full kit: https://ctechautomotive.com/product...ercooler-kit-fl5?_pos=26&_sid=895a48f5c&_ss=r

Core only: https://ctechautomotive.com/product...75898&pr_ref_pid=9877412643130&pr_seq=uniform

HKS IC by itself bolts up to the stock IC piping without issue. Better to order the complete HKS IC kit as it includes replacement piping. Adding the piping kit later would add much more to the overall out of pocket cost.

Here is a link where I added the HKS IC piping to a J's Racing intercooler. Previously, I was using the OEM IC connections. HKS piping kit will work with any aftermarket IC that uses the OEM connection points.

Thank you for the insight.

Goal is end of July to mid-August. Looks like you're in DFW - so are we. Feel free to PM if you'd be interested in getting on the list for pre-order.
