I snapped the gas pedal off while driving. The instrument cluster threw about every warning in the book so I pulled over and shut the car off, then turned it back on and there were only 2 warnings: emissions system error and rev match system disabled. I'm looking for an aftermarket pedal set because I don't want this to happen again, but have only been able to locate replacement pedal "covers" so far, not full pedal assemblies. Any help would be appreciated.

That definitely is kind of impressive, I don't think I've ever seen someone break a pedal off before.

Not sure if I've ever seen an entire aftermarket assembly for the pedal before. If you're not in a rush, you can get a used OEM one off of eBay for fairly cheap. Lowest I've seen was $40-50. Dealer is around $280-300.

Part number should be 17800-T20-L01

I doubt anyone is making a different accel pedal as its not an issue that has happened so unless you get someone to custom fab one you might be out of luck. Honestly this is weird and who knows why it happened but I would toss it up to just a one off and would be comfortable in putting the same pedal back in.

Maybe you could have someone adapt the brake pedal as a gas pedal since that one is made out of steel.

Are you using Sennas Throtle technique lol

Bring this up to Honda if still under warranty, or bring it to their attention if not. I'm sure they do not want this accelerator pedal failure story to get out to the general public, might fix it as good gesture and get their hands on the failed pedal unit to investigate.

I would imagine this could be argued as warranty item, or a grace...

If not, since these aren't typically wear items, any civic in a junkyard probably has theirs intact. If eBay is $50, probably isn't worth your time.

I'd suggest checking with your local Honda dealer on warranty.
