Videos of my FL5 with the large res deleted and fuse mod done (all other mufflers/resonators in situ)

This gives you the "noise" of the ITS however doesn't provide the programmed crackles in Sport Mode which is from the ECU ignition/fuel mapping.

I would imagine deleting the smaller res (closer to the front pipe) and keeping the larger res would result in a milder/quieter noise output.

What is the drone like with the large resonator delete? That would be my main concern with this mod.

It’s honestly not that bad little to no drone and I have the active valve open, so I’m sure with the active valve how it comes oem it’s even less

I have - however I fear it will be too noisy for daily duties/conversing with my passengers :D

Its IMO right on the limit of acceptability for me. When I'm by myself in the car its fine, I would even like it to be louder at times - however with passengers trying to conversate I do find myself finding a higher gear on the regular. But I would say the noise/drone level be no worse than any available exhaust system on the market today..
On the highway going 100-110km/h in 6th gear its no problem at all. Very quiet.
The main resonance occurs on the overrun at around 3-3.5K rpm where the noise *could* be considered irritating at times.
I should try to refit the exhaust flap fuse to see if it will eliminate that resonant reverberation.

I tried it with the fuse back on the and it quiets it a lot but I wish in R Mode it kept it open so I wouldn’t have to be pulling the fuse everytime I want it louder lol

is it kind of too loud with the fuse out and too quiet with the fuse in? maybe removing both resonators with the fuse in might be the answer

I feel like we need a table for all this

Valve Open Fuse ModNormal Valve Operation
Front Res DeleteNote: Somewhere between the mid res delete and no delete, doesn't adds the pops from the ITS
Sound Clip: here :)
Thoughts
: Think this is going to just come down to preference, be interesting if people do this with a hondata tune to add the pops
Note: Hasn't Been Done yet, @TheTopher plans to Post
Sound Clip: None Yet
Thoughts: None Yet
Mid Res DeleteNote: quite a few have done this referencing @tezzasaurusrex
Sound Clip: Link to his post with clips
Thoughts: Sounds good, no real pops but some gurgles. Might be too loud for daily
Note: Not sure if we have sound clips of this or not but here is a link to @BLUFL5CTR thoughts on it Post
Sound Clip: None That I know of
Thoughts: Seems this is not loud enough but probably better for daily
Both DeletedNote: Hasn't been done and no current plans that I've seen to do it
Sound Clip: None Yet
Thoughts: This is likely going to be very loud an probably not very desirable
Note: Hasn't been done and no current plans that I've seen to do it
Sound Clip: None Yet
Thoughts: This may be a really good in between option and would love to see someone try
BaselineNote: Most common mod here @TheTopher has a great writeup on how to do this
Sound Clip: Tophers youtube video
Thoughts: Wakes up a little bit in the lower rev range but not a huge difference, no drone
Note: Vacuum cleaner
Sound Clip: Vacuum cleaner
Thoughts: Vacuum cleaner

I'll try and keep this updated as more of these options are tried!

I am really tempted to just order some 2.5" stainless tubing & a few V-clamps and then fire up the 'ol tig welder in the garage so that I can easily swap the OEM resonators in and out of the car to try every different combination...

Thank you for making this table! One small suggestion... rename the columns so it's more clear that you're referencing the "valve" open mod, assuming that's what you're talking about. Maybe "Valve Open Fuse Mod" vs. "Normal Valve Operation"?
