This frontpipe is integrated into the design of the exhausts. AWE exhausts are not designed to mate with other aftermarket frontpipes.

Touring Edition Exhaust:

At the intersection of sophistication and aggression lies the Touring Edition Exhaust. A 3” T304L stainless steel downpipe-back configuration, the Touring Edition Exhaust is the perfect dose of steel for drivers looking for straight-pipe performance, a deep, sophisticated exhaust note, and zero drone at highway speeds.

Featuring an integrated front pipe, robust midpipe resonator, thick-walled T304L stainless steel, and an iteration of AWE’s 180 Technology® bespoke for the FL5 in the rear, the Touring Edition is the do-it-all configuration for everyday drivers.

Thanks to AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology®, the Touring Edition keeps all of the commotion to the rear of the vehicle where it belongs, and destroys drone-prone frequencies that would otherwise resonate within the cabin at highways speeds – all packaged perfectly to fit within the undertray of the bumper with plenty of clearance.

The Touring Edition, and the 180 Technology® within it, were both developed for use with and without an aftermarket catted downpipe.

Perfect tone, compliments of AWE 180 Technology.

As exhaust gases exit the K20 engine and flow into an AWE 180 Technology equipped resonator, they pass through strategically located ports, and into reflection chambers. Sound waves, carried by these exhaust gasses, bounce off the walls of the reflection chambers. By controlling the size and location of the ports and the chambers, we also control when the sound waves exit the chambers. The specific timing of when the reflected sound waves rejoin the main exhaust flow creates a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree out-of-phase sound wave that cancels out problematic frequencies. All of this with a straight-through design -- in other words, all the power, none of the drone.

Track Edition Exhaust:

11th Gen Honda Civic [Now Available] AWE Exhaust Suite for the Honda FL5 Civic Type R 3020-52287_1

For those who like it raw and rowdy, the Track Edition is for you. The Track Edition shares the same integrated front pipe, robust midpipe resonator, and precision engineering as its Touring Edition counterpart, minus AWE’s patented drone-canceling 180 Technology® resonator in the rear.

In place of the 180 Technology® resonator in the rear lies a Track Edition straight section. As a result, this version is known to get rowdy in mid range acceleration/deceleration and cruising, and may be too much for some. You’ve been warned–especially with a downpipe.

Conversion kits:

We made it easy to convert between Track and Touring Editions if you decide at a later date to change your interior volume.

What is the lead time?
There were a limited amount in stock, we may be sold out already if not darn close.

When we run out of stock they will be made to order (production floor is at about 3-4 weeks currently) or you can check with our dealers who may also have stock.

If you want to go that route and don't have a preferred dealer, feel free to shoot me a PM and I am happy to recommend some 🤝

So either can be later converted to the other? Track to Touring and Touring to Track?

Im interested about the touring version. Questions:
Does your installation disable the operation of the OEM exhaust center valve? Is there approval for installation in all countries of the European Union? Do you ship to Europe? The drone sound is therefore eliminated when driving at any constant speed on the highway? Thank you

I can answer 2 of your questions:

1. The center valve is not present in the touring edition.

2. Drone sound is not present when driving at highway speed.

So the touring exhaust is incompatible with the OEM exhaust valve or am I misunderstanding?

Neither of the configurations are valved, and this was by design and for good reason. During R&D we did a full evaluation of the factory valve and how it performed under various driving conditions – painstakingly, really, but we were hell-bent on finding a reason why it was there to begin with. The valve is not controllable by the driver… at all. Meaning regardless of the driving mode, buttons, settings, etc, there’s no opening/closing the valve from within the cabin. It works directly off of throttle input and only opens upon a certain breach of a threshold declared by the ECU quite high in the range. It’s sole purpose is for backpressure higher up, that’s it.

After confirming this, and given our configurations already remove any backpressure issues organically, it would have been pointless to incorporate a valve.

After testing confirmed that there was no need for a valve, we moved forward with our Touring Edition which has a new recipe of drone-canceling 180 Technology® resonator bespoke for the FL5 which achieves the same result, essentially, which is tame when you are at low RPM cruising and wakes up when you step on the throttle.

We do ship to EU and we also have dealers over there, feel free to shoot me a PM if you need any recommendations or a quote with shipping from us 👍

So either can be later converted to the other? Track to Touring and Touring to Track?
Yep! The conversion kits replace the specific Track or Touring sections in the event you want to switch it up or add something spicy upstream (like a DP) and are in need of 180 Technology® (if a Track Edition was on there initially, for instance).

I used to think the valve would be necessary for any aftermarket exhaust so you can have some quiet as needed. The interior is pretty well insulated so I found it unnecessary and did the valve fuse mod and never looked back. Only reason I could see now is if the aftermarket exhaust is obnoxiously loud at startup and you don’t want to piss off your neighbors but that doesn’t seem to be the case with the Touring model.

If I were to purchase the black tipped and down the road wanted the chrome, do you sell the tips seperately?
