I'm holding off on projects til the spring. If I keep the car, then I'll start knocking out projects then. I am known to trade-in cars pretty often lol, but this is my 3rd of this chassis, so I think i like it a bunch

I currently have my new CR-S tires warmly wrapped up inside the house. Might give them a snuggle tonight so they know they are loved.
Gut it and cage it go full race car lol

Almost bought a S2K AP1, 29k miles, mint unmodified from a local dealer for $14k a few years back. Bank was closed, couldn't get a check for the dealer. Changed my mind. Still haunts me lol.
I owned an AP2 - I really think the S2k is just hype now (although $14k is a good price). I know it's not as "special" but if you want something like that just get an ND2/3, I think you'd be better off, and they are readily available. The S2k is also getting harder and more expensive to maintain - things that break easily (if you are doing stuff like this thread) like transmissions and differentials got spendy, not to mention the engine

Right I wouldnt buy one now honestly. At the time 14k was about the bottom. Oh well moving on lol

I was debating getting one spring last year but the prices are insane. It's just not worth 30 or 40k for a clean one at this point. Plus at that price I wouldn't want to track it.

You don't want to track it anyway - you'll get passed by everything these days, unless you go full racecar (or turbo). 😂

Sk2 is awesome but I agree at 30 to 40 that decent ones are going for is crazy. I would never pick one over an elise (even though its an easier car to live with) and elise is still a tad more. But shit for 15-20k id love one with lower miles and decent shape. Prices will go down though

I hope so because at 15k I prefer it to a Miata and would love a k swp s2k lol. But I have no room for a second car. Maybe if we move lol.

Anyone got the OEM carbon wing? In a moment of weakness I bought one that was being sold "local-ish". I am not expecting it to really do much lol, there are no numbers out for it, only a video where the drift king is saying how much better the rear feels with the wing. However I find it hard to believe since it does not seem like he is going all that fast (its raining + small road). I would love to bolt it on and try it on but its 30 degrees out, salt everywhere and I don't even have anything but summer tires so its going to have to wait till spring and a track day to see if I notice a difference, curious if anyone has any experience with it as it should have a bit more downforce but also drag
I have it, and I really like it. I can't say I noticed anything dramatically different with it on track, certainly not worse, and I LOVE the look.

Detailing products are so expensive… at least good quality stuff.

I just got an active 2.0 but gonna have to wait to use it till spring, just gonna be a paperweight till then. Been meaning to upgrade for ages. If anyone needs a nice 50ft uberflex hose let me know, the active needs a different kind of hose and I had just bought the uberflex and used it like 3 times. Its awesome and bummed I can’t use it with the active

This was me in my mid-20's (albeit with much cheaper cars) - I was averaging changing out several cars a year with 2-3 cars at a time, but as I got older (late-30's now, so basically in a senior home 😂), moved to a more expensive house/city, and I started to like higher-priced cars I slowed down a lot.

I'm now averaging changing out about 1 or less per year, and I've had my Tesla for 5.5 years now which is a record for me - also, it's faster than the Civic everywhere (including NCM, by seconds). 😂
still happened/happens in my mid 40s 🙈 We have had more cars than years on the planet, close to 50. nothing crazy but definitely looked like we ran a car business.

Longest vehicles we've owned all were 3 year leases that we kept til the end:
  • 2006 Altima SE-R, no one would give value on a trade so it stayed
  • 2013 Chrysler Town and Country, a minivan is one of the best vehicles you can have if you have kids, SUVs are terrible by comparison.
  • 2013 BMW 335xi, payment was actually very good, so we held on to this one til the end
  • 2021 Mazda CX-9, we do love our Mazdas too.

One of the biggest regrets was not buying a brand new leftover S2000 CR for $30k. It probably would have been traded in before they blew up in price, but would have checked that box off

lol me too. at least 80 cars I'm sure I have forgotten some over the years. My wife has basically said don't lose too much money and don't even think about getting rid of our van. Everything else is good 😂
