@PointByPatrol I know you have the track version of the radiator. How bad is it to use this on a “family car”? And what am I missing if I go for the street version?

The track version has a higher coolant capacity. I've had no temperature issues with street driving. I had the same on my FK8 and had zero issues around town. The street version is basically the factory radiator, but in aluminum with a slightly higher capacity. The track version is much higher capacity in comparison.@PointByPatrol I know you have the track version of the radiator. How bad is it to use this on a “family car”? damn sucks to hear that... what were the conditions? how long did it take to get that hot?I had hoped the same until I overheated on track. Coolant temps hit 258. Problem went away after the radiator.

If you do not track the car then its not needed for a street driven vehicle unless you go like in back roads or canyon carving for extended periods of time.@PointByPatrol I know you have the track version of the radiator. how is the track radiator for daily driving?https://www.civicxi.com/forum/threads/fl5-overheated-on-track.52620/
The details are here in this thread. It happened during one 20 minute session at CMP.
Yeah I agree with what others have said, its total overkill for a street car. Even if you take the car to the track you may not need it.@PointByPatrol I know you have the track version of the radiator. How bad is it to use this on a “family car”? I don't notice any difference at all, except for my temps stay a few degrees cooler.how is the track radiator for daily driving?
I do plan on tracking the car. But I’m taking about 1-4 track days a year. That’s why I’m curious about which radiator to use.If you do not track the car then its not needed for a street driven vehicle unless you go like in back roads or canyon carving for extended periods of time.
Yeah then a street version radiator might be best for you.I do plan on tracking the car. But I’m taking about 1-4 track days a year. That’s why I’m curious about which radiator to use.
The one time I tracked my FK8 in July, it went into limp mode and threw codes on the second day after the second session. I gave up running the third and fourth sessions because I didn’t know what was going on. I’d like to avoid that scenario again.
