Looking to see what others are using for lug nuts.

I've been using Amazon specials for my aftermarket wheels, but they are already rusting. If I don't want to spend $400+ on titanium, what are some good options that will be pretty durable?

Thanks!

Project Kics R40 Iconix initially but swtiching to Rays Formula FN-II. If you use a floating seat lug nut remember to check them from time to time

Man, I tried looking everywhere and kept running into the same issue. I ended up getting some Amazon ones that supposedly “don’t rust,” but since I’m not using the car right now, I can’t really attest to that. Paying that much just feels like more of the JDM Type R tax. I hope you can find a good solution! On my wife’s SUV, I have black McGard ones that are still going strong, but I couldn’t find a set for my car maybe I was just looking in the wrong places.

I’ve been using project kics monolith since 2022. I had them on my FK8 and now on my FL5. No rust, but I don’t daily my R.

Tire Rack supplied the nuts for my winter wheel/tire set. After four years of daily, winter driving, on an FK8 and then FL5, they still look new.
I'm pretty sure they're Gorilla.

For OEM Honda type wheels, I recommend the same.
My Kyo-Ei R40 iConix with the floating seats are awesome. They have been working great on my heavy OEM Honda Pilot HPD wheels, and I have a second set for my OEM Honda Modulo Shark Gray Forged 10 spoke wheels.

For my aftermarket MITA Motorsports FKS wheels, I got Kyo-Ei Project Kics Monolith lug nuts.

Rays Formula FN-II lug nuts here as well. They are pretty expensive, and I didn't really want to spend that much on lug nuts, but they're very nice. The 14x1.5 size seems to be a bit of a pain to find closed-end options for, or at least the ability to make them closed-end with the cap screws.

OMT bought on Amazon $30. No need to go expensive on lugnuts as long as they are steel. Yes they can rust however if you don't use an impact on them they will stay rust free for a long time. Also get closed end and not open. Just like running center caps it helps with rust forming from trapped water sitting. This is for my situation though since I live in a pretty rust free area in SoCal.

I did some reading about this when buying new wheels and I came to the conclusion that a good reputable steel lug nut is the way to go for durability. Titanium may gall and aluminum is soft and won't stand up to monkeys using impact wrenches. A McGard or Gorilla steel lug nut is going to be the most durable option. Of course steel will be heaviest, but the lug nut is a small part and it is in the center of the wheel, so the weight penalty is miniscule. For the McGard lug nuts I got, 5 of them would weigh around 0.7lbs. The price is tough to accept, but I think/hope it'll cost less in the long run.

Yep, steel is probably the most durable option.
I think that McGard, Gorilla, Canadian Lug Nuts, and Kyo-Ei are all steel.
