Yanks got the FL5--
I think you meant we got the DE5 (Integra Type S) which does have parking sensors and other accoutrements that come standard on FL5s in other regions.

I get where you are coming from but being grateful that the dealer disclosed something they are LEGALLY obliged to do lol is not something someone should be grateful for but yes its great that some dealers are transparent. They are giving him a choice and he can walk away which is what most would do

not in every state and usually its for things like flood and frame damage.

Dealer identified lol.

It's all good, business is business. But as a consumer, I'm sure you can understand why most people would recoil in horror at this scenario.

Leaning on state-specific legislation on whether or not to do the right thing is not a consumer-friendly tactic IMHO.

To answer the OP question, another vote for hell the f no. Let some other sucker pay full MSRP for it.

Stuff happens. If the price was right....maybe. I agree with the tow hook theory. If the hood and fenders (metal) are fine, bumper grill and intercooler were the issues...plastics/pre-painted stuff....that would sway me if price was adjusted down a lot. If metal was bent and/or respraying happened....would avoid it.

why fuck dealers? because they are being full disclosure with you? most dealers would not say a word about repaired damage, many people on this forum are driving around "perfect cars" that had paint or body work before it was ever sold new, happens all the time. be grateful this dealer told you up front so you could make an informed decision.
We agreed on a price, he ran my credit for the financing, then he decided to let me know. They are not up front at all about it. And yeah they better let me know because it's written in the law for that state they're in and mine as well. So yes fuck dealers. To make matters worse he didn't fully disclose until hours later (he suddenly became silent) after I requested more information about it. It had a collision in the parking lot. Not a "made contact" situation like they said.

Scummy move to run credit first. Hoping to lock you in by putting an inquiry on your credit report. That could cost you some interest percentage at the next dealership.

You arrived at a deal based on the premise that the car is NEW, which usually means there’s zero significant damage to note (not including superficial / easily fixable things like swirl marks that may have happened in transport or PDI). To also run your credit before informing you of the issue is absolutely SCUMBAG behavior. Now you need to let us know who the dealer is so we know to stay away! Name & shame!

I agree, not right to run the credit. Also possible the salesperson didn't know and the manager sprung it on him last second. Which is a worse issue long term.

The same thing happened to me at Wilde Honda in Sarasota, FL when I was shopping for a 2021 LE. At the time everyone was asking $10k over but they agreed to $5k. They ran my credit, agreed on a price for my 2017 CBP FK8 on trade, and put it aside for me while I drove down from Orlando.

When I got there, that's when they finally disclosed to me that the car was damaged at the port. Turns out both fenders had been replaced and the hood was repainted. The car had been put together poorly to the point both doors hit the black plastic piece on the fenders when they were opened. The skirts were also completely misaligned with the fender liners left loose.

I walked on the deal. Then the manager had the audacity to offer it to me at "only" $2500 over sticker. This was after driving 2.5 hours on a Friday afternoon.

Was about to start signing when they pulled this out on me. It "made contact with the vehicle in front of it"." Not sure if I should just take the L and walk away. It's for MSRP.. I'm buying out of state too so I can't even look at it

Big NO for me. If you were getting a considerable discount, maybe... But myself, I would want it all original..

Running credit before disclosing is not ok.

Now, if it had been plastic only and the intercooler...so say a tow hook....no fluids. No trauma to fenders, bumper bar, headlights, hood...just sort of a shot to the intercooler....for the right price and with a full warranty, and my being happy with the paint match...yes. But any painting, nope. Bumper is painted from factory is my understanding so that doesn't count. I'd push for 2000 under MSRP...or more.... I guess I am the only one but parts that bolt on, clip on and no painted or bent metal...stuff happens. But I'd be looking at bent mounts, etc. The car would have be "as good as from factory...I'd want to inspect the areas closely...perhaps on a lift...exposed.
