Something about mailing my ecu that I find unsettling.
I understand. It is a bit unnerving shipping your ECU; however, it is not uncommon unless the tuning solution allows you to flash via OBD. Perhaps that capability will be available in the future.

FWIW, I recall having to send my ECU to Hondata many years ago for KPRO on an 05 RSX-S. It was odd having an ECU-less car sitting in the garage for a few days before the ECU came back. All was forgotten once I got the ECU back and into the car.🙂

Lost, smashed, broken etc. Its like covering your hand in meat juice and sticking it in the lions mouth while someone says “don’t worry, we already fed him!”

Wanted to highlight this very interesting info that people may have glanced over.

The new FL5 Turbo although having a 5mm smaller compressor inlet, still produces more power and torque than the FK8 turbo. Largely due to the improvement in computerized fluid dynamic software when developing the FL5 turbo.

500RPM gain in spool and more power. Win win win. Great analysis Hondata and thanks!

The torque is crazy! Who’s our first adopter? We need reviews - I can’t imagine this car with that kind of power.

@Hondata Thanks for your work on this and the write up. You make mention the fuel pump is running duty >90%. I didn't see any mention on IDC. How much headroom do the fuel injectors have? Also, what's the reason for the dip in the boost curve from ~3,600-3,800 RPM?

No idea what IDC is. Fuel injectors are the same size more or less as the FK8, and are running to 33%. So a bit more headroom on the injectors. Where are you seeing the boost drop (not the rpm range; the source)?

Injector duty cycle. You answered my question, thank you.

I'm referring to the graph in your write up that is labeled, "Boost pressure displays better in kPa. Peak boost is 27 psi at 5750 rpm." where boost pressure is on the Y-axis and RPM on the x-axis.
