The tinnitus is real, and earplugs are your friend.I rode in the back of a brand new Honda Civic sport 2026 and it was gosh-awful road noise and it made me realize how badly insulated these vehicles are from the factory and I could hear a ton of road noise coming back from those wheel arches in the rear. I hope Honda figures out a low cost way without adding weight to really damp and isolate sound because it is Gosh awful..
I can confirm by riding in the back for the first time that road noise is coming from the rear wheel arches and trunk. It’s unacceptably loud. Feels like a tin can. And this is also a car on less noisy road tires than the type R.
Honda listen up and fix this on your cars moving forward !! If all other manufacturers can do this without adding much weight, do it! My ears are slightly ringing this morning, I can’t even remember and imagine how loud my type r used to be.
That’s what I call my tinnitus military gradeThe tinnitus is real, and earplugs are your friend.
I keep a pack of disposable foamies in my center console for local trips, and a pair of silicone rubber triple flange plugs in my door handle for highway drives.
Until I get my car insulated, this is life in a Civic.
Impossible to pull the liner off without removing the wheel. i tried, they have some dumb clip behind the wheelI am still debating if I want to do the front wheel wells, maybe only if I could pull back the rear half of the liner since I have no ability to remove the wheels. Do you think it's possible to treat that area by turning the wheel all the way to one side?
I want to treat the floor as well but don't feel like pulling everything apart.
