Where I am (NY) I have limerock 1 hour away, ny safety (1 hour away), palmer (2 hours away), thomson (2 hours away), watkins (3 hours away), njmp (4 hours away), new hampshire club (5 hours away). This is pretty damn good, good variation.

NY does require front plate but i don’t have it in any of my cars.
downside is that it gets cold so its a march-november season.

Wow nice! I'm used to the off season too doesn't bother me. Helps budget the race dollars 🤣 that's a nice list of tracks. We've been sort of looking at Maryland/Delaware and in the DC area may need to take a look further north 👍

VA has some tracks within distance

Summit Point, Jefferson, NJMP, VIR, CMP and Road Atlanta are probably within driving distance as well

true. we out east are in great shape it seems. And its not just the amount of tracks, a lot of really REALLY good ones.

So my first purchase of the year lol, thats it I promise. I got a ECS wiper delete kit. Its dumb but I really don't like the look of the rear wiper, never use it and hey saves me 2 lbs.

I also ordered a bucket seat to go in the sim cockpit I am going to pick up on Friday. Been putting some hours in iracing, pretty fun. Also the new asseto corsa is coming out in a few weeks and should be great.

Haha yea the other problem we basically live in one of the cheapest areas of the country so everything is expensive by comparison 👎

But being cheap can be more expensive in the long run.

What's the rest of your sim setup? I already have the Logitech wheel I keep going back and forth about getting a seat setup. I think I would use it way more with an actual seat.

that is why I am buying a cockpit. This is my setup right now

Nothing special but a pain to always have to move that chair in (a bucket seat in its own right though and most likely a much more comfortable one.

My setup isn't fancy, just thurstmaster t300 with their upgraded pedals. Goal is if I really use it more and more will upgrade to a direct drive wheel and some cell load pedals. For now its fine. I also have an oculus and I like to play in VR. If I was putting tons of hours in I would try to get triple screens or at least one of those 49in curved displays but I play like 3 races (12 min each) for now and then play 3 again later or somethign like that.

VR is amazing, nothing like it. You can really place the car where you want. takes a bit getting used to and might make u sick at first but now its awesome and way cheaper than getting triple screens.

The rig I am buying is the Sim Lab GT1 from microcenter. $450 and comes with a single screen mount. Then buying the shifter mount, some caster wheels (so I can move it to a hidden room when not using so my wife is happy). Seat I got a large NRG from amazon for $280. So not a small investment but not terrible.

Saw this thing on reddit and found it pretty fun. Gonna have everyone that comes over and wants to do it to set a lap at limerock. Will keep a lap time on a board and at the end of the year the winner will get something cool. My times won't count that that be unfair since I can play all day everyday

I have a Omega GT Prime Cockpit with the RS6 seat and their monitor stand. I don't use the monitor anymore as I use VR with my PS5

I heard VR Gran Turismo is amazing.

I want to upgrade my oculus to the oculus 3 which is amazing, the pancake lenses make all the difference but one thing at a time and I think right now the rig is what will make me want to play more.

Been playing the new M2 CSR and its a great league. Podium a bunch of times at VIR North (lower groups of course). THey just switched to a different track, forget the name and of course I suck, trying to figure out the line.

VR GT really does make a nice experience , able to look through the turns really makes it so you never want to use a monitor again. I also use the Fanatic GT DD with the 8nm and it's good combo. The T300RS was very good as well before

I never tried DD so don't know any better. The T300 is decent for sure, definitely good beginner setup that I have had since covid. I go through phases sometimes used it a lot and sometimes not but it can be a lot of fun. Also good to learn tracks on asseto corsa since the mod community has made most if not all tracks I go to so its pretty great. Unfortunately the community made type R does not feel like the real type R at all

T-LCM pedals are a great upgrade especially with the 3DRap brake pedal mod . The T-LCM pedals are better than the fanatec DD ones, but can't combine mfg with PS5

Same here with the ups and down of using the setup, wish GT had more tracks.

Would like to see how the wing works first and then the cooling plate to see if an aero changes
