It is my daily driver!
it that case, it really doesn't matter if you go with 275/35 or 265/35 for the wheels. They will both fit fine without rubbing even if you were lowered.
Good tire options include:

1). Michelin PS4S or the A/S version for extra longevity
2). Bridgestone Potenza Sport
3). Yokohama Advan Apex V601
4). Continental SportContact 7
5). Continental DWS06+(Widely considered to be the best All-season tire for the platform)

Sick, Thanks man, if I am looking for a more flush fitment, I'm assuming a 275 would be the best option correct?

Yes, but at a 9.5 width and +45 offset you're gonna be inset a little. Try Google'ing this spec wheel on the FL5 as well as checking the pics in this thread. That should give you a good idea of how you'll end up.

I'm in San Diego as well. Roads aren't terrible. As a daily driver you'll want a decent All Season tire for the rains like we got this morning.

Thinking of getting a new setup either with 255/40/18 +38 (or 265/40/18+45). Any thoughts on stock height vs H&R springs (most likely will keep stock for now)?

Honestly #281 looks amazing, might just do 255/40/18+45 (and should have zero issues/rub from the looks of it)

Unless it's for a winter tire never go with a narrower setup than stock so stick to 265/35 or 265/40. You will not have any issues with rubbing even if you're lowered

I'm interested in Mugen MF10 wheels, and my main concern is hindering the overall ride quality vs the OEM wheels/tires. I love how this car handles/corners out of the box, and was curious if anyone who did downsize to 18in experienced anything negative compared to OEM? Ps, I won't be lowering it as PA roads are yikes and I'm already thrashing my Mugen Lip on OEM suspension, lol. Thanks!

This is a very interesting thought experiment to me.

Thinking of getting a new setup either with 255/40/18 +38 (or 265/40/18+45). Any thoughts on stock height vs H&R springs (most likely will keep stock for now)?

I'm honestly surprised that post #281 doesn't look extremely stretched.
I did a bit of snooping on @Noize 's build thread to find the wheel size on the TE37, hope you don't mind, Noize!

Knowing that the TE37 wheel is 18" X 9.5" wide, a 255 width tire seems very narrow to me.
For example, I got 18X8.0" Honda Pilot Bronze HPD wheels for my "Winter" setup, and put 255/40 ZR18 tires on those wheels.
To me the 255 width tire looks perfectly square on the 8.0 wide wheel.

Both of our cars are on stock suspension.

Of course, the differences in perceived width likely have to do with
1.) Different brands, and
2.) Different "Season Focus".

In this case, the tires on Noize's FL5 look fairly square, which is mind boggling on 9.5" wide wheels.

Here is the Pirelli Winter Sottozero in 255/40 R18 on the 18X8.0" ET +50 Pilot Bronze HPD wheel.

NOTE: If anyone is interested in doing a setup like this for the winter, you will need AT LEAST 20mm spacers in order to clear the Brembo front calipers. These wheels have nearly zero backspacing, and the spokes are THICCC with three "C"s.
25mm spacers are recommended for these HPD wheels. The setup shown is with 20mm spacers.

So here we have two examples of 255/40 ZR18 tires, both on very different width wheels, yet both sets appear to be fairly square.

Are winter tires designed to be narrower than Summer tires by default? ... because they need to break through snow and ice, whereas Summer tires are wide in order to maximize dry surface grip?
... and are All Season tire widths "somewhere in between"?

Sounds logical to me, but makes tire shopping confusing.

Did a quick google and it seems that RT660 runs wider than usual compared to other tires of the same spec.

Going back to wheel/tire decisions, I do want a bit more meat so I'm considering 275/35/18+45.
