It was T4. It wasn't the 5.3g's, it was the side air bag that did my body in. As I was pinned on the door, the air bag popped by shoulder out

That is a sketchy turn. I had a throttle body fail in my Miata there that caused it to stick wide open. I left foot brake for it so my clutch foot was busy trying to slow down the car. Made for a wild ride.

Did you get any video? Lightning is by far my favorite track in the Miata. I’d be happy to watch some video and give some pointers.
Yes, I have some Garmin Catalyst videos that I need to go through and upload. Thanks

Wow, you really used all of the track. Crazy that the air bag force can pop a shoulder out.

Sweet! IDK how much crossover there will be from low HP RWD to the FL5 but I'm sure there is something.

On the repave, I think they fixed the dropoff of the outside curb, so hopefully that alleviates some of the issues with that turn.

I think the mechanics of the side air bag is you're expected to be in the center your seat and being t-boned, not against the door, so when it releases it acts as a barrier, except when you are at the door.

Apex is about to have their black friday sale, not sure what percentage off it is but last sale they had was 30% for their EC7 wheels, I got a set last time and I think they were like $1100 for the set.
Its not $150. wheel but they are great wheels that will hold up, also apex has a 50% of if you need a replacement wheel.

I have carried an extra set of wheels to the track a couple times, fit fine inside the back seat/trunk along with a full size jack, ramps and track tool box
The Apex sale is supposed to start tomorrow, and I'll definitely be checking it out as I wouldn't mind another set. It's also very possible they get a lot more expensive in late January, for, reasons.

Those gators ate you alive! They need to pave on the other side of those gators to help prevent that from happening to other people. It would be a reasonably inexpensive "fix" for the track owner, and would likely cut down on them having to rebuild tire walls all of the time!

I think I'm picking up a cheaper set for track use, and sell my forged 18x10 set. I want a different set for road use, and something a little cheaper for track. I'm not sure, I am indecisive.

I change cars too often for fancy forged sets that will just get covered in brake dust anyway ?, although some of them do look pretty good!

Yes, 100%. I also want to move to Conti ECS for street driving. I should have no problem selling the forged set I hope.

A good set of A/S I find is more than appropriate for 98.9% of street driving. They really have come a long way.

That's partly why I want to get another set - to have a travel-to-the-track set that can also be wets on track if necessary (ie, ECS).

After my last track day of the season, I swapped wheels wrapped with Michelin AS tires and the drive was so much quieter. Now I can hear all the creaks in the cabin again.
Yes I'm swapping my all weather pirelli this week will feel like floating on a cloud ?
